For the money, not a bad choice...we need someone reliable to shoot from the outside and knock them down consistently

I like the fact that he is used to playing an uptempo style and doesn't make "rookie" mistakes on defense...solid pick up.

I know the triangle is not an uptempo offense, but the Lakers are horrible at fundamental fast break the playoffs, easy baskets are like gold...the more the better.

If Blake's added, who's subtracted? Especially if they insist on keeping Fisher (which I think is a mistake).

Phil should make more than $12M next year, not less. Or at least give him more incentive pay. It's tremendously difficult to repeat as champions unless they upgrade their role players and everyone stays healthy throughout the year (both very unlikely).

umm...this doesn't's the World Cup that matters. Leblack doesn't matter.

Derek may not have the numbers, but he is clutch, seasoned, and a champion. Ask Phil and he'll tell you the value of Derek Fidher. It may sound greedy, but they all want a 3-peat, so let's not fix what works, just yet.
Makes no sense

This guy hasn't played for a winner (5 teams in 7 years) in his career and he gets a 4-year deal from the world champs?

I'll tell you what they're thinking. Fisher is on the decline, even though he is still clutch and great. Blake is a good PG, which obviously you guys know nothing about. And last I checked Makes no sense, Portland was a good team that he was recently on. He can dish the ball and shoot the three. Who do you want to sign, Chris Paul? LOL. Dude, do you not understand there is a salary cap? We don't need a huge name at the PG, we already have big names. This is a solid pick up, mark my words (even though you'll forget what I said in 5 minutes).
set to go

It sure seems like a good, well actually better pick than JORDAN FAMAR...(turns out that Jordan is not as effective as we wanted him to be..guess we will have to wish him luck out there)

Another respectful and classy job from Lakers by waving their rights to match so that Famar can go anywhere and get anything..... That's what amazing organizations do and Lakers org. is certainly on the top.

It's a long term...Steve can succeed after Fisher, or stay to support Shannon (that's if Shannon does develop as well as we all want him to). So there are multiple senarios that we can look at.

Overall, it was a very good move by Lakers and will just have to do a little cleanup in the house.

And they are set to go!!!

Question: Why are they offering Fisher, one of the most trusted and reliable point guard in Lakers history, this little, while Sasha and Luke, two of the most highly priced bench warmers bench warmers in Lakers history, who made 185 and 69 points respectively in the 09-10 season, combine for $12M a season???

Luke and Sasha made in one season what the greatest Lakers ever, Majic, made in 12 seasons. What's wrong here?

Mr. Mitch - we need and demand an explanation. We know that the Lakers is a private business, but here it's more public than the Department of Water and Power.

We, the Lakers fans, need and demand an explanation, because ultimately, we pay the Lakers bills, we pay for tickets, we pay for parking, we pay for cable TV, we pay for hot dogs and beer, we buy Lakers merchandise, we put Lakers flags on our cars and get lower MPG because of that - we do it all.

Steve Blake? Wow, that will really help the Lakers keep up with the Miami Heat (LOL). Who needs Lebron or Bosh or Wade when you can have Steve Blake?(LOL LOL LOL LOL).

Blake sucks, he is at best a #3 on a .500 team. This will ensure the Lakers don't threepeat. Book it!

anything is better that the Pansy move Queen James made....selling out to win rings! You call that a legacy? Even if he wins 5 rings in Miami, doesn't mean much....he took the weak route because he could not it on his own.

Kobe, Michael, Magic, Bird,,,,
Queen James- Overrated!!! Underachiever!!

Lakers better find another young guard that Shannon Brown is opted out of his contract and looking for big money somewhere like Famar.

It's shame if he goes....cuz he sure could have taken over Fisher at some point if he stayed.

Anyways...need to find some talented young legs to back Fisher and Blake...soooooooooon
