Arenas Calls Out Cleveland Fans Amidst Gun Troubles

Washington Wizards star Gilbert Arenas has no concerns about possible legal action brought against him for taking unloaded guns from his locker because law enforcement officials "already know the truth." He's not as confident he can escape punishment from NBA commissioner David Stern. Full Story

This guy needs to be severly peanlized from the NBA. He needs to be suspended and fined. There was no reason to have guns in the locker room.

Oh and if the team KNEW about the guns and KNEW about the regulation, they should be punished.

I really don't see the harm in what he did they were unloaded guns unless he has a past (which I don't know about) then I think he should just be told not to bring them back. Oh Al Sharpton someone needs to "stand up" to you and knock you off your soap box your not that important and ALOT of people don't care what you say!

First of all he is full of it. First he said he had the guns to play a joke on his teamates, then he said he brought them there to get them away from his children. Make up your mind!! First of all he makes millions of dollars and he cant afford a safe? Second of all he is not a responsible gun owner, since any responsible gun owner does not use a firearm to play a prank on anyone loaded or unloaded. A gun should not be used as a toy and he is setting a bad example for his children. He should be locked up and punised to the full extent of the law, and by the league. He obviously thinks he is above the law according to the comments he made, so I hope the law and the league throw the book at him. His gun ownership privileges also should be taken away. I would like to see him do jail time maybe then he will realize what he did was a big deal.

I wish the person/people responsible for putting stories on this website would pay more attention to spelling and grammar. I'm not the post police. I'm not perfect either, but these people are supposed to be professional journalists. The title should be "ARENA Calls Out Cleveland Fans Amidst Gun Troubles." NOT "Arenas Calls Out Cleveland Fans Amidst Gun Troubles." Please get someone to proof read the stories, before they go up.

A famous multimillionaire has no better place to store his guns than the workplace. If he is that stupid, he would believe that the Verizon Center would be OK with it. If I bring my gun (which I am licensed to carry) into my place of work, I lose my job. As far as Al Sharpton being fair, if Arenas was white, it woyuld be fine?
Just goes to show ya, you can take the thug out of the ghetto, but you can't take the ghetto out of the thug. Hey Gilbert, ever catch the guys who wrote all over your body? Maybe that's what the guns were for.

Isn't that illegal too since he brought it into a facility that even bans average citizens, players, and employees from the arena from carrying any kind of weapon into a sports facility? I work downtown at Progressive Field during the summer and they search both fans and employees to make sure they are not carrying weapons into the ballpark. At the Q they metal detector everyone and search everyone also. After 9/11, they don't want nobody carrying weapons into any public place access the nation.
