There are so many really good officers in Memphis that uphold a high standard of ethics. It's a shame when a few officers give the entire department a bad name.

I think it is terrible for the son of Taffi Crawford. He lost his mother of violence and now his father is on the wrong side of the law. This little boy got to be saying "why this is happening to me". We all need to pray for him because he most certainly need it.

There may be good officers in Memphis but I think there are more of this kind . Might be the reason there is so much crime .

I have to agree with you Sunshine. Cops are just as bad as the criminals. I don't trust any of them.

The only way to eliminate corrupt law enforcement officers is for the courts to make an example of the ones that are found guilty. They are held to a higher standard then they pay a higher standard. Don't let MPD spiral downward to the level of New Orleans, Chicago, and New York PD's.

i too agree with sunshine, i don't trust no cops. i drive the speed limit cause i don't want them stopping me for nothing. they think cause they got a badge and a gun they are above the law. too many of them are getting busted that should tell you they are no different from nobody else. it is sad to say i dislike the mpd cause most of them are crooked.

You know, I am so tried of people using race as the reason for people doing wrong. There have been plenty of crimes committed by people of all races! The problem is greed!!!! My friend, greed has no color! So, stop using these unnecessary quotes that continues to divide our county/ community!! Racism, It's old and worn out!

Dee-Bartlett, I understand exactly what you mean. Don't let these old geezers upset you. Remember, it's a generational curse. Some folks are so infested with racism, I almost feel sorry for them. Time won't heal this problem, so the only thing one can do is not let it upset you. Those type people are just looking for a good fight so they can really say what they want to. Some of these people are even preparing themselves for the inevitable "race war" that some has been waiting for for years. That's why it's so important to get these kids, and adults to stop killing each other, not to mention the drugs that will eventually take them out. If this type behavior continue, then it's feeding right into the ones who carry that monkey called racism on their backs every moment of their life. And now they wait on Blacks to self destruct. Basically "genocide" of our own race to run it's course. Let them talk, who cares what they say, I don't. However, as far as myself I'm to old to care one way or the other. I do wonder and pray about the young ones.

Oh no!, this is sad. I sure hope we don't find out later that there was some sort of twisted connection between them. And Ms. Crawford paid the price somehow for their shady and shameful life styles. You just never know these days.

maybe they should try to shift the police officers to different areas after they have been in an area more than 6 months.then they could share the love with more officers instead of keeping it all to themselves.Jus sayin.

What do you expect from a police department that hires individuals with criminal records. It only takes a few bad apples to ruin a whole bunch. I hate this happened, but I am glad someone is trying to clean up one of the divisions of corrupt city government.

There are many good officers in memphis but there are also this type. I was told the Memphis Police Department put the hiring into the hands of the city counsel because not enough black officers being hired etc. I withdrew my application immediatly. Well here is the deal, I know the folks on the city hiring staff are getting more black applicants and thats great but I also know of one individual who was hired that was running in a gang in the late 90's and is corrupt as they come. Good luck Memphis, with your fine applicants the city is be safe now!
