Jason Kidd was great, so was Nash mainly because he played in a team suited for his style. AI blows Nash out of the water honestly, in his prime of course. But fair enough, if you want to say a Scoring Guard, sure hypothetically put him in the SG position, same place, perhaps top 3 shooting guard/point guard or whatever "Scoring Guard" IN HIS PRIME. In his prime he could definitely rival Kidd, not as a passer but definitely in scoring because Kidd could not do the things AI could. Now what did AI have as a team? Larry Hughes? Amazing that they even WENT to the Finals. Kidd is a better distributor, AI definitely had some ability to find an open man, but his superb scoring was easily what he is and will be known for. Gary Payton? Get that out of here RR, Allen Iverson would drag him face first through the floor, Iverson is one of the top 10-15 Guards of ALL TIME, PERIOD. Hall of Famer, no question. At least that is my opinion.
Sorry but GP brought more to the table them AI at the PG.

Sorry but AI his prime barely led a squad to the finals, Jason did 2 times and was a legit PG and legit runner up MVP.

See where ever Jason went the team did better, regardless.

Same with Nash, Iverson can say that.

I would rather have Jason or Nash on my team then AI.

You still haven't giving me a real reason why he would be HOF.

Also look at the team AI was put in Denver and the best he could do was
8th spot and swept.

Same team minus AI plus Billups = WCF.
That should tell You something about him and I think right now Billups a better case for HOF then AI.

I don't believe he made his teams better, I feel it got more to do with Brown keeping the team glue together and putting up with Iverson's crap for better of the franchise.
If You look at the main players in that squad they all did well when they went to other teams, so they were solid role players.
Iverson couldn't make player better around him.
I wouldn't consider him for the HOF.
Alrighty but if you take out iverson, then you have to take out other players as well.

kidd and nash are a different breed to iverson! Allen Iverson could get 30 pts and 10 ast a game in his prime! his numbers kill anything nash and kidd have had! im not saying kidd and nash are worse players than iverson, but they go about their jobs differently in a more team oriented manner!

why he shud be in the HOF? ok...
Rookie of the Year
7 times all NBA
4 time scoring champion
10 time NBA All Star
Most Valuable Player
Led the league in steals for 3 consecutive years, a feat no one else has accomplished ever in the nba!

Hes always played with so much heart, hes extremely tough and resilliant! you speak like making the finals in 2001 barely was nothing?? his team was not very good besides maybe Mutumbo and Aaron McKie, Iverson had several injuries but played through them, he infact had to sit out games he was in so much pain, the sixers essentially gave away games so that iverson could get some rest and be better for the rest of the series! and then iverson always came back led his team to crucial wins when they had no right! they won 2 of the toughest 7 game series i had seen in 2001. I know stats are one thing to look at, and statistically iverson is definately a Hall of Famer, but the impact and control on the game is really where he has earned respect from not only his peers, but the games greatest players, and thats why he is Hall of Fame material!

And as i have said, unfortunately once he joined better teams like detroit, that has ruined his career and most like any chance he had of making HOF! Cos if he could have just played in the team concept and taken over in the clutch like they wanted him to, and possibly won a championship, then him being in the HOF would already be done essentially.

I just being a scoring force is not good enough, not when the player has nothing to show for at the end.

Yes, Kidd and Nash are different breed You are right.

They actually make their teams better MVP material all the way.

AI during his scoring titles he managed to kill his relationship with his team mates, he was the only that benefit from him scoring so much, and still he has not figure that out.

Sorry KB1, I respect Your opinion, but I just don't see it.

The number he put with the team he had in a weak east he should had been enough for multiple trips to the finals.

But he sucked as a leader and it shows every where he is been so far,
numbers without leadership just make You look selfish.

AI's team in 2001 was not a bad squad, I don't remember the injuries to his team to be honest, so I am going to take You word for it.

To me AI is one those guys overrated by the media, sure he has the personal skills that makes him look like a warrior and is flashy, but is more the noise, then the substance at the end.

From Hollinger

Andrea Bagnani's breakout
Bryan Colangelo took a lot of heat from some quarters (ahem) for his $50 million extension for Bargnani, and certainly the Toronto Raptors' alleged center still has much to prove at the defensive end. But offensively, he's been lights out through the first eight games, helping Toronto to the league lead in offensive efficiency.

The 7-footer is 17-of-35 on 3-pointers, but what's really made a difference is the new-found diversity in his offensive game. Bargnani has shown more willingness to put it on the floor and even (gasp) post up on occasion, resulting in 20.1 points per game and a steady diet of closer shots to supplement the long-distance game

YAY YAY YAY!!

Lakers center Andrew Bynum will return to action on Thursday against the Suns.

He has missed the team's last two games with a strained right elbow. He suffered the injury late on Nov. 4 against the Rockets.

"It's time for me to go out there and try it out," Bynum said. "No, I'm not going to be cautious. I went out there and banged with DJ (Mbenga) a little bit and nothing bad happened. No swelling came back, so I should be all right."

The Lakers will still be without Pau Gasol (hamstring) against Phoenix.

Iknow whats going on. You sat out way too long.

Arenas:'I Don't Know What The Hell Is Going On'

Nov 11, 2009 8:27 AM EST
Wizards guard Gilbert Arenas was frustrated after the team's latest loss on Tuesday night.

Washington lost to Miami 90-76 to fall to 2-6 on the season.

"I don't know what the hell is going on around here. I don't know if some old player put a curse on us back in the day. I have no idea," Arenas said. "It's frustrating because we feel we're better than the teams we've been losing to. We're just going through scoring teams, going through these things where we're scoring 13 and 14 in the third and the fourth. It's frustrating, you know."

Arenas had 21 points and eight assists, but committed a career-high 12 turnovers in the loss.

Rockets coach Rick Adelman doesn't believe that star Tracy McGrady is close to making his season debut.

McGrady caused a stir on Monday by claiming that he'd return next week against the Timberwolves, but the Rockets refuted his claims.

"He's been able to practice and doesn't have the pain he had last year," Adelman said Tuesday. "He still has a long ways to go as far as running the court and moving defensively."

McGrady has since backed off his statements, saying that Nov. 18 is just a "target date."

He is scheduled to have an MRI on his surgically-repaired knee on Nov. 23.

Grizzlies rookie center Hasheem Thabeet left Tuesday night's game against the Trail Blazers with a broken jaw.

He suffered the injury in the first quarter. Replays showed Thabeet's jaw smacking into teammate Zach Randolph's head.
