my 2 cents..

if he didn't break the law, he should be left alone with his opinion.

I dont think the NBA took enough time before deciding to hand down a lifetime ban to someone and its going to come back to haunt them.

being a racist is not against the law.

if that were the case, we have plenty of people in la raza who should be put in prison immediately. guys like joe baca, bill Richardson, juan hernandez, etc. last I heard, bill Richardson is still yapping away on fox news.

read the stupid racist things that bill Richardson spews.

the only reason I see for why sterling is being picked on is because he is white. no more. no less.

mind you, I don't like racist of any race. but let's be straight about what is happening.

So let's say that it is. There are currently SEVERAL NBA players who have criminal convictions, some of them multiple convictions while they were in the NBA. Are the powers that be in the NBA suggesting that assaulting the homeless, pulling guns on ex-wives/girlfriends, assaulting ex-wives/girlfriends(and in one case in front of her kids) and uttering death threats are far less insidious crimes than having a mildly racist opinion in a PRIVATE conversation?
And was this law against racism enacted before or after Charles Barkley went on his little public "I hate White people" tirade?

I personally think Sterling is a sick person.

But I stand in the middle of this issue. People shouldn't be accounted for what they say in their private home. He was set up by the moocher.

However, people should be aware of themselves if they are part of any organization with an image to uphold. Any organization should be able to remove anything that ruins their image. Otherwise it would crumble under scrutiny. The Mozilla CEO for instance, deserved it. He should have donated anonymously, but he donated with the company name in public eyes.
