Regarding the "Case Closed" bullet.
I think it is far from close. You mention Howard as a comparison, but that is not only unfair, it is comparing apples and oranges. You give as proof the 15+ games where he has had 5 or more blocks. That just underlines the fact that his actual per game numbers are skewed, and in the other 50+ games, his BPG are much lower. Given that, for a center who is supposed to block shots and be the anchor of his defense, he basically blocks 1 more shot per game (2.50) than Wade (1.50). Howard's rebounding is a given, but that is not a a vital statistic. Jordan, Payton and Artest have won the award and their defensive statistics didn't include rebounding, and certainly didn't come close to Wade's when it came to blocked shots.
Case closed? I don't think so.
