Darwin - have to disgree, with Kasich's agenda I don't think we have to worry about any Republican being elected or reelected anytime soon. Whether by central Ohio or statewide vote.

Fine, flush the casinos then. In exchange, we'll just have every other major election be decided by the central Ohio counties. That means no Republican will ever be voted into major office again. I'm fine with that.

That's stupid. Both parties are that way.

Thanks Kasuck! You are a first class loser. You and your republican harem are destroying this State. Instead of creating jobs you are sabotaging jobs at every turn. You reward your big shot CEO's but are killing the middle class. You are an embarrassment and completely incompetent. Why don't you do us all a favor and RESIGN!

Yeah, Las Vegas sure is blighted. Have to agree with the poster that stated Kasich has screwed up everything he's touched. Just hope Ohio can survive this idiot. This will go to court & Ohio will lose 3 times, when the judge rules in favor of the casinos, when we get the bill for the lawyers, & the delay costing jobs, job, & more jobs. Isn't that what King John promised while campaigning? GO CASINOS!
<quoted text>
Why would Ohio lose this case ? There is nothing in Ohio's constitution about raising or lowering taxes or exempting casinos from tax increases. Look at what we did to the tobacco and alcohol industry. We are taxing them out the wazoo. The casinos don't get an exemption from this.

I think we voted on this about 5-6 times with the first 4 times the casinos going down to defeat. I think if we voted again, it would probably go down. It seems it is like school levies or the freddie kruger character, no matter how many times you kill it, it keeps coming back.

What a riot...they stopped construction on two veritable TRASH DUMPS. Gambling in the community is a sure sign of social collapse. Let's hope they stop construction permanently and these purveyors of utter filth leave town.

No casino's should be built until the casino amendment is "fixed". Our no-good, on-the-take, politicians have to get off their fat arses and put an amendment to the casino amendment on the ballot, removing the casino monopoly, tripling the license fees and increasing the State's take of the casino revenues. But don't hold your breath, Penn National and Dan Gilbert have been lining the pockets of our representatives with cash for a long time. Wake up people!

So, with Gov. Kasich proposing the raise taxes on casinos, and him acting to impose burdensome regulations that will delay and restrict job growth, you blame the democrats for this?

Thanks for the laugh. But obviously you are completely wrong.

Penn National and Dan Gilbert spents millions on ad campaigns selling you on all the jobs that would be created and how their casinos would solve all Ohio's economic problems. At the same time they were stuffing cash in the pockets of your elected politicians to keep them quiet. To top it off, less than 50% of those eligible to vote voted and the casino amendment passed narrowly. Wake up people!

Seems like what the gov is proposing is in line with what a typical democrat would propose. Anything he proposes isn't good enough for you is it. Typical of your ilk.

Did the governor take election contributions from Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Indiana and Michigan and promise to deep six Ohio's proposed casinos? Any day at the four casinos in the Detroit area, one in Erie, one in Newell and the two on the Ohio River in Indiana are crowded with Ohio citizens.

It may be conjecture but it looks suspicious. Let's keep the jobs and tax dollars from gaming in Ohio, not in our neighboring states.

You are as big a buffoon as our governor. And you are obviously missing the point.

Kasich spent the last 12 months complaining and moaning and whining about taxes. No new taxes. Taxes are too high. Taxes are job-killers. Taxes are anti-competitive. And on and on and on.

And where are we today? All he seems to want to do is raise taxes on the one industry that is trying hard to get into Ohio.

This has nothing to do with Democrats. This has everything to do with him lying to the people, and being hypocritical in supporting this tax increase.

And he got all those Republicans to support him. But all the democrats voted against the massive tax increase. So your theory is further shot down.

But thanks for your comments Mr. Limbaugh.

WOW. Kroger pays the CAT tax on gross revenues (no deduction for the cost of the merchandise it sells). All Kasich is telling them is that they have to pay tax the same way Kroger and everybody else pays it, and as they themselves wrote into the constitution, and you liberals call that an "increase"?

Simply WOW!

Congratulations on exposing yourself as another liberal who loves rich billionaires (Dan Gilbert) and evil corporations (they don't get much more evil than Penn National). I didn't know there were so many of you.

So you support imposing taxes on a business that wants to bring jobs to the state?

Thank you for clarifying. Shame on us liberals!

Does kroger also pay 33% of their gross receipts in tax? Sounds like double taxation.

It's also comparing apples to oranges. Do we need to have an accountant with a calculator at every blackjack table, detailing every 'raise' or double down?

And this isn't about fairness. Kasich himself said he wants to tax the heck out of them to get more leverage.

Think before you speak.
