Who cares? These casinos suckered Ohio voters. We should be getting 80% of the profits!

Who cares.....Go GET EM John! Make them pay! it was a stupid idea to move the Columbus casino to the west side. I'm sure it was hard to find an neighborhood blighted enought in which to build it.....after all most casinos i've seen are built in blighted areas....but in most cases its the casino that causes the blight.

Way to Go Kasich. So much for the advice of your $400 an hour advisors. So much for the jobs promised. So much for derailing the casino that WE voted for.

Total screw up. As usual. But we have a park and a merry go round downtown - in an area that is not safe to visit at night, since Kasich will not give the police a decent budget.
Hypocrite for Governor

Mr. Anti-tax Kasich sure is a hypocrite. Trying everything in his power to tax and tax and tax the casinos. Far more than they would already pay.

Not really moving "at the speed of business" are you Mr. Governor?

Have you driven down Broad St. lately? It is one of the rare parts of town where the casino is actually an improvement over what's already there.

Otherwise, I agree.

GO JOHNNY GO!!! Squeeze every last dime out of these people!!!

Leave the casinos alone, Governor. You can pay me $40 an hour for this advice.

They should pay more!! The Ohio casinos are getting the best deal in the country, none of the others pay such a low tax. Just another one of Union freak Strickland ripping Ohio off.

If we're lucky, maybe they won't build them at all and the State will be spared the addtional crime and negative impact gambling has on people. Just ask Art S. about the difficulties of overcoming a gambling addiction.

Ironic? Big business halted by the party of big business for reasons of uncertainty surrounding tax increases on business? I am not sure I am reading this article correctly...

Great Job Kasich keep up the good work. Poor casino's, maybe you should have written that amendment better. People don't believe the spew coming from the casino's. They spent more on advertising to get these casino's into Ohio than any of the additional proposed taxes will cost them. Open your eyes and don't listen to the hype, they bullied their way into Ohio and now that they can't get their way they are acting like children.

So this is the first thing I like that John Kasich has done since being Gov. I would have thought he would have given them the red carpet they wanted. Go get 'em John! Make them pay thier fair share - they will make millions, so Ohio should get part of the profit!

This is the result of 4 years of failed leadership. It will take a while to get things back in order. Sound familiar ?

As a reminder, all central Ohio counties voted the casino down...Franklin, Delaware, Pickaway, Madison, Fairfield, Licking - all voted majority "No".

Quit acting like Kasich isn't representing the people's will.

Bunch of hypocrites...

Great! I hope they're never built. They are just the latest indicators of how Ohio has fallen.

You must can't count, because Ohio has 88 counties and over half (yes that would be 44+) voted in favor of the casinos! So you and the residents in Franklin, Delaware, Pickawa, Madison, Fairfield and Licking can just STF up!!! You had your say ... so don't spoil it for everyone else who lives in Ohio that voted in favor of!!!

Kasich is just plain BAD for Ohio!!! That's it and that's all!!

First thing I've him do right since he got in.
Hope he runs all of em out of here.
Ohio's screwed up enough: without all the casinos bringing in more mob activity and other vices and criminal activity!

Tax and outlaw smoking in public places?
Gambling should suffer the same fate.
