How about fining the fans that provoked Noah? There is no differance, just because one is a professional athelete and the other is just a fan does not give the fan the right to unload on any player knowing that the player just has to sit quietly and take the abuse from the fans. We are all human beings, and i do not believe for one moment that there is someone out there that can just sit and take any type of verbal abuse from anyone. Especially unexpected abuse... I believe that if the play must get fined then the fan must be escorted OUT of the event no matter if the event has just begun,(and no refunds)they need to be taught how to respect also, if they haven't been taught yet... Go Bulls...!

What's the big deal? He called him a gay boy but that's the way athletes talk. They're making way too much of this in my view.
yeah sure

He was fined $50,000 and apologized. That isn't good enough for the ffaggs. What ever happened to accepting someone's apology and moving on?

Noah fined $50K for this, Kobe fined $100K for using a gay slur as well but an additional fine because it was directed at an official?

Hmmm..I would think it would be worse for someone directing it at the one who pays the salary, the fan...

Anyway, Lebron recently muttered "That's retarded" after a reporter questioned Wade. Lebron denied it than later admitted and apologized ONLY after the video was shown.

So where is the backlash there? Why wasnt that blown out of proportion?

If gays find that word "offensive", perhaps those participants at the special olympics find what Lebron said "Offensive" as well?

Keep that in mind Kobe haters when you think he always gets the upperhand in the league, when you think the league, Stern and the refs are on his side..

some would say though Water that the word retarded is now trendy and a very old word like describing blacks as negro. Retarded these days should be deemed mentally challenged. Iam not so sure retarded the way its use today is really that offensive. I guess F*ggot still is. To me big deal I enjoy a fag now and then with a coffee anyway.

That's not the point, personally, Im not offended at either "slur" and most people who've played sports are subject to it all the time, its nothing new. I call my GF a retard and she calls me one!

See, as you dont see the word "retard" as anything big, there are still many who do, both those who actually are and those who have family members who are and those who work with them as well.

But, following your view that its not that offensive today, the same can be said for using "f....ag" today as Im sure you've seen those NBA ads w/ Grant Hill etc saying "eeeeegggh! Its not ok to use gay in place of stupid or dumb"

Thats how everyday those words are today, no big deal as you view retarded...see what Im saying?

So again....the fines? 50k Vs. 100k Vs nothing?

Lets face, being called gay is an insult. No one wants to be gay. Its like being retarded.
