Chicago Bulls

Ben Gordon ready to see what awaits in free agency

Full story: Chicago Tribune

So, Ben Gordon , do you or your agent have a backroom agreement to sign with Detroit when the free-agency period begins July 1? "You can't even negotiate until July 1, so that's just rumors," Gordon said Wednesday at his basketball camp in Lisle.

Now that Isiah Thomas isn't running the Knicks anymore, he must be giving his old team he played for advice! Hope BG and AI are good buddies!! Take the offer, Ben. No one else will give you near that.

BULLS should use Deng + Hinrich to get Bosh :) and please keep Gordon unless you are sure that able to land D.Wade next year.... Preferable 2010 line ups: B. Miller, Bosh, Salmon, Gordon, Rose ... Bench: Noah, Gray, Tyrus, and Jonny Flynn (Syracuse).. I think BULLS can go eastern finals!

It would be tough seeing BG in a piston uniform. I guess if Mike could end his career in D.C., Anything's possible.

What really would be interesting is if he is starting for the Pistons. because we all know BG had "issues" with that here in Chicago.

This EXACT situation is why you'll be hard-pressed to find dynasties anymore. What Pip and MJ did was truly amazing. And what Bill Russel did would be "HIGHLY IMPORBABLE" TODAY. With free-agency, the league would have "picked" those Celtics teams apart like Vultures.

Too bad we can't get rid of some "dead" weight on this team and keep BG

I hope Ben walks and the Bulls get ZERO in return. If u are dumb enought 2 let assets leave your franchise as an unrestricted frie agent, u have no business running a franchise.

Simple as that.

I wonder if the Bulls are aware that they have no low post players on the entire team. Think they address that 11 years in a row?

It will be sad to see the points leave, but I would also be happy when Ben's defense leaves as well.

Let's face it, he is a me-me player on offense and a you-you on defense.

Please remember all those mind numbing (why didn't he pass the ball to the open man-when-3-people-are-guarding -him play)Ben Gorden moments on offense, and very little (if any) defense.

We'll be no better then the last 2 years without him.

Good to see ya over the offseason, Captain Sunshine...
I also hope Ben walks.
If the Bulls get nothing, that's fine.
This would be totally addition by subtraction.
Fine with me.

U think Shannon Brown is happy the Bulls got rid of him? The ONLY way a current Bulls player wins a title is if he gets booted from the Bulls. At the rate they are "building" this team, they will NEVER make it 2 another Finals game.

I am still ambivalent, I realize the guy adds allot on offense and, if he would accept a role coming of the Bench he could be a perennial 6th man of the year canidate and provide some depth off the bench.

At the same time, the stat that stood out to me about the Celtics series was that when he scored over 20 or 30 points the Bulls lost. So all the effort he puts into scoring is offset by his lack of defense.

If Detroit really wants to pay $11M for him, I say go ahead, that's way overpaying.

Twenty points wont be hard to replace. Roses ave will go up four to six and salmon will pick up some slack and dengs minutes will make up rest, But ill agree losing assets for nothing is ridiculous we should get a ten ten guy for ben at the very least instead of nothing but one positive note, pistons are dumb and we will kill them with rose being defended by gordan and if salmons moves to two they will really be in trouble gordan will be there liability sorry for poor grammer but im really lazy today

BG is motivated and can defend the PG position just fine. He also is an excellent 6th man playing combo guard.

BG never complains, but certainly he has lots to complain about in the way he is used. Hinrich has been the obstacle to BG playing more PG, the way BG did in college.

The problems start at the management level, not with BG.

The bulls should trully consider keeping ben gordon trading there picks and getting that inside player who can score and rebound because they are so close. The people of chicago really understand basketball.

If you want the Bulls to keep Gordon, then you are one of those fans that do NOT understand basketball.
