Will this Chicago Bulls team please pass the ball? Maybe they've got to get back to basics, but a terminal 11 assists for the game and 24 turnovers is no way to begin a pre-season. Look after the ball and play unselfishly and we might actually win some games!

Kirk getting more than 1 minute of playing time is a BAD sign.

that same larry hughes? the black hole of basketball?

there is a reason coaches like kirk, there is a reason his fellow teammates like kirk. around the league, it is understood that one of the players on the bulls team that does have trade value is kirk. i dont understand all the hate.

Did you watch Hinrich last season? He stunk! He couldn't shoot, he couldn't pass, he couldn't defend. I'll take Hughes or anybody over Hinrich.

I agree with you on the Hinrich hate, but lets be honest, Kirk may be a decent starting point guard, but he is not a starting shooting guard on any team in the NBA! Everyone knew that keeping him around would cause a log jam in the backcourt and will take valuable minutes from Thabo, Hughes, and Gordon. The Bulls struggled to score last year and the same thing happened last night. Whether you like Hughes or not he is one of few guys on the roster that can put up 17 to 25 a night. Rose will get guys open shots but someone has to be able to create and that guy needs to start next to him in the backcourt. Larry Hughes and Ben Gordon are the only players on this roster that can do that! Time for management to get over this love affair with Hinrich. He does not fit with the makeup of this team right now other than a backup to Derrick Rose!

All i know is the Bulls are going to need some scoring from the backcourt, and since starters generally play 30-35 m.p.g. will Hinrich and Rose give the backcourt enough scoring. Probably not, and Hughes is making it clear he wants to be a starter, and Gordon, he needs points desperately in hopes of landing a contract with someone next season. If he only gets backup minutes, you can probably rest assured he'll be trying to score on every play, no matter if he has a shot or not. Paxson should have done more to alleviate this backcourt logjam, and not put Del Negro in the position of having to deal with a bunch of egos, right from the get go. I think it's going to get ugly this year folks, and i'm not trying to be a member of the legion of the miserable by saying that, i truly think it's going to be reality, whether we like it or not.

For all you Gordon haters out there:
Last Nights recap: Defense 110 points allowed
3 Pointers made: 1
Turnovers: 24
Assts: 11
This is the improvement you were looking for?( granted 1 pre-season game)

Great...another malcontent on this team. Just what we needed. Hey Pax, I hear that Iverson, Marbury and Vince Carter are available via a trade. Why not just load up the team with a bunch of bad apples. While you're at it, Sprewell probably needs to pay off that boat he got repossessed...I am sure he is itching to get back to choking coaches...oops, I mean, playing basketball.

Oh I love it everytime Larry Hughes says he's been comfortable being a starter in this league. It never occured to him if all the teams he played for are comfortable with being a starter.

Somebody here said he's one of the few guys who can score 17-25 points. Sure he can since he jacks up so many ill-advise shots that on a lucky night, he'll get you 30. Unfotunately, those lucky nights happen about once every two-three weeks. And in even on a hot shooting night, he still finds ways to lose it for his team by taking stupid shots in the crucial minutes or by charging out of control in the lane and commiting offensive fouls or getting blocked.

I'd rather have somebody who will give a steady 10 points and won't try something he is not capable of doing.

Move Larry Hughes away as possible. The guy's a loser, plain and simple.

I think Kirk Hinrich has the potential to be a decent SG in the NBA. Hinrich is a shooter and that was lost last year when the Bull's expected him to be able to add drive and dish to his game and he wasn't able to. Skiles demanded more than Hinrich could offer and that doomed his season last year. But, with D-Rose as the helm, it leaves Hinrich with the ability to make shots...which he can do even against other SGs who are 3-5 inches taller than him. And Hinrich's defense shouldn't be an issue as he showed he has great ability when he nearly shut down Dwayne Wade in the 06-07 playoffs.
