2005 - Denver Nuggets rookie accused of rape, there isn't a lot of news articles following the initial accusation but it appears he was never even charged.

2006 - Crystal Gail Mangum accuses 3 Duke University Lacrosse players of rape, the players were vilified then ultimately exonerated and the DA was removed and disbarred for misconduct for prosecuting in spite of evidence of the innocence of the players.

2009 - NBA Player accused of rape in Philadelphia, DA investigated and cleared the player.

It would be worse except that professional sports leagues have training sessions for rookies to teach them how to avoid a false rape allegation.

I'm a true advocate of supporting the victim when it comes to rape. However sounds like the victim may be the accused in this case. If Shannon was guilty why didn't he get questioned by the Denver police like Kobe did. Kobe was treated like a criminal...why not shannon brown. Seems if anyone would be able to "work the system" to get out of trouble it would be Kobe's legal team over anyone Shannon Brown could hire. The police didn't even pursue this!! It shouldn't even be allowed in civil court. It's all about the money...
