I was at that game as a 9 year old fan in awe of the players who were just a few feet away from me. Two of my uncles, at various times, played for the Lenox Merchants in different incarnations(not the one that beat the Knicks)...Many years later, while going to college in Boston, I went to the Celtics offices to try and get a game ticket. I happened to bump into Red Auerbach and mentioned I was from Lenox and knew Butch Gregory. I found myself at the game that night. I will never forget that Elgin Baylor, Bob Cousy, Jerry West all played on the same gym floor that I would play on as a pre-teen and teenager.
