It would not be an overstatement to say that Big Government Medicine is a "growth industry" in Council controlled Long Beach. As recently reported:

"California Sen. Ron Calderon and his brother, a former state assemblyman, are accused of accepting more than $1 million in bribes from the former chief executive officer of the former Pacific Hospital of Long Beach, who ran an elaborate health care scheme that allegedly bilked the state out of millions, according to an FBI affidavit."

*(Note: According to an FBI document obtained by Al Jazeera America,“Californians for Diversity is a charitable arm of the Diversity Political Action Committee with ties to Calderon..” In its five year history, Diversity PAC, according to campaign finance reports, has raised more than $1.2 million. More than two-thirds of those funds,$813,766, has been spent on payments to hotels, golf courses, resorts and professional fundraisers." This "diversity mongering" PAC has been described as "Ron Calderon’s slush fund for luxury")

Now, revolutionary Council has begun the war against increasingly impoverished overtaxed city residents who drive automobiles. At the same time they encourage the dangerous traffic impeding practice of driving bicycles by unlicensed, uninsured, untaxed and unregulated unruly bicycle drivers. This, after Council used hard earned taxpayer money to make skateboard driver accommodating curb cuts in taxpayer owned pedestrian sidewalks in an effort to cater to violence prone skateboard drivers.

These factors make clear that Big Government medicine will continue to be a growth industry in Long Beach. Today, it is being reported that Ron Calderon got caught. With the number of Sacramento ruling class political elitists standing in line, there will soon be others to take his place. The economic future of Long Beach looks bright indeed.
