It does not matter, the Yankees also tried to buy a Championship each year but they failed miserably each year. As long as LA have the hog, they are lost.

I sure hope so, Kobe is getting old, and Dwight is a bit immature.

At least we have Nash, that may be what puts us over the top. A PG that knows where to put the ball!

Agreed. If everyone starts healthy and stays healthy Nash will ensure the Lakers will go as far as their abilities allow but the key is health.

Kobe will "SUGGEST" Nash puts the ball in KOBE's hands each time down the floor.

LBF, where was this "LOOZahs" talk when KOBE won his last 2 rings back-to-back a couple years ago?

If you're going to hate, hate him personally and own it. Don't hide the personal crap and try and say it's Kobe's game or talent that lacks because you have no argument if that's what you're trying to do my friend.

I agree with you, Nash is a huge pick-up. BUT (here it comes) Nash is a distributor and scorer. There are only so many basketballs to go around and You and I both know, in crunch time, it's Kobes' rock

BTW I don't see OKC doing anything but get better. Are you Justsayin the Lakers are the cream of the conference or the division?

True but we've never, ever, ever seen Kobe get to play with a proven, elite, playoff tested PG who commands respect the moment he puts on a jersey. At this point, nobody can say for sure what Kobe will do or if he will allow Nash to make the best choices but if the Olympics are anything to go by, Kobe blended in and played a key role, not the MAIN role so hopefully that translates back to the NBA and to the Lakers. If so, everyone's in for it.

Ok, I'm from Oklahoma and I have a soft spot for the Thunder BUT, last post season the Lakers could've very easily been up 3-1 themselves if they hadn't overachieved the entire season and to that point.

OKC, they added who? They re-signed Ibaka but the Lakers just got 100x's more athletic and defensive by adding Howard. No more slow moving Bynum who still didn't play D as well as a man of his size should've. The Lakers once again have the twin towers and this time they can boast it's the 2 best big's in the game at their respective positions. Pau in the 4 slot and Dwight in the 5. Pau can toss it down to Howard at times but not feel obligated like he was with Bynum. We may see Pau explode with Nash as he did once again in the Olympics.

Nash might lack on defense but he will give the Lakers something they haven't had in decades. A true floor general(sorry Fish).

You want my pick so I'll say it's the Lakers' to lose in the west. Miami IMHO are still the team to beat overall.

Yeah, Lebron finally got it going. Face it the West has a lot of good teams, should be a great season. If the lakers stay healthy they should be in there at the end. Who would you rather have? Kobe or Nash?

Yankees have won 6 of the last 16 world series. I'll take that. What do you think Miami did? Buying a team worked pretty well for them

You got that right. LA was a missed Steve Blake 3 and a crazy clutch durant made 3 away from being up 3-1

Oh yea the west is stacked and we still can't rule out San Antonio or maybe even Memphis again but when we look at age it's obviously Kobe and when we look at what each of them have done with their teams in the past Kobe has legitimately lead the Lakers to 2 championships and Nash still has none on his resume. So it's Kobe by a mile but I still love Nash and even more so that he's a Laker!

KoMe is the opponents best secret weapon, he will make the Lakers lose. He almost made the USA team lose the gold with his bricking and one on five stuff. The Lakers should have won much more titles with the teams they had in the last seventeen years.

Yeah, with the Bulls it is a legacy team. I like Rose. I live in Colo so I like the West, no real favorites. It really depends on the time of year. During the regular season I like passing teams, but in the playoffs, give me the thugs. Just an all-around hoops fan
