How do the Celtics have it worse than the Pacers?
They have a solid young nucleaus (Jefferson, Peirce, Rondo, Green and Gomes) and a top 5 pick in the deepest draft since the LeBron draft... The Pacers have (Tinsley, O'neil, Granger, Dunleavy and Murphy) no draft picks, no cap space and 4 players with 8 figure contracts that nobody wants...
What is Boston envious of exactly?
I'm talking in terms of tanking the season only to end up without Oden or Durant. But fine, if you want to say they didn't tank, then they apparently really were an awful team last year, and the only difference between then and now if a #5 pick. And with a couple dudes like Doc and Ainge, even with a healthy team they aren't going anywhere. If you're a Celtics fan, then you probably threw up in your mouth when they called you at #5. I'm not saying the Pacers are going to kick ass or anything next year, but at least they have the honor of knowing they didn't try (unsuccessfully) to sell their souls for Oden or Durant.

You all forget who destroyed this franchise....Ron Artest. Bird and Walsh are playing the hand that was dealt to them. Other teams know they have an advantage as the Pacers try to clean up their roster. It will take years to undo what has been done.

So let's put the blame where it should go, on the players who have mis-behaved. I guess in California, getting T'd up and gun play in parking lots are in fashion right now.

All is not lost! Trade J.O., Tinsley, Harrison, Murphy, Baston, Greene, Armstrong and Foster for whatever! I'll suggest: Utah; Millsap, D. Brown, Brewer. Or, Sacramento; Garcia, Price, Bibby. Or, L.A.L.; Bynum, Parker, Farmar, Odom. Or, Orlando; Millicic, Arroyo, Redick, Bogans, Nelson. Or, Phoenix; Barbosa, Diaw, Banks. The possibilities are endless when we're in the position we're in. Lop off the waste and start over with a little bit of positivity(something many of you supposed fans could desperately use, for sure!). We'd have a base of Granger, Diogu, Dunleavey, Williams, Daniels, Mcleod, Marshall (maybe keep Foster) just for starters. If they tank and we are in the lottery again, hopefully the guys would have a year to jell!? The coach issue seems to still be up in the air . I haven't heard anything worthwhile! Mike Brown got away. What a shame. But,,,, maybe we'll get a very needed and pleasant surprise!? Phoenix assistant would be an option! Maybe we'd get to see some exciting play win or lose.!?

Why in the world would Portland trade the top pick (more than likely Oden) for anything on Pacers roster. Get a clue.
Pat: YOU get a clue.
First Jermaine Oneal CAME from Portland. I'd be really stunned if they accepted him back with open arms.

Dick-tater is right, trade ONEAL & TINSLEY for any of the top 3 picks.

Why delay?

I agree... Pontificate all you want. Clean it up too. The fact of the matter is this, every wrong move that could be made has been made by us. Call them thugs all you want, but what they can do is this; play ball in a system that lets you play ball.

I have gained alot of respect for Nellie. Why is it he was able to get more out of the players traded to G.S. than our coaching staff could? I would really like a valid explanation, not just some Indiana B.S.

I am a native of Indiana and love my home but I truly hope that the Indiana basketball community gets a good dose of what it is like to be at the bottom for at least a decade, because that is where Bird, Murphy, and Dunleavey are going to take you. Bird is was a great basketball player but as a front office guy he is no better than Isaiah. In fact he sucks worse in my opinion.

I hope that something is left in the second round. I also hope that Jermaine goes somewhere in our division and punishes us for the rest of his career. WE GOT WHAT WE DESERVE.

P.S. Even an out of work coach like Stan Van Gundy isn't interest in the Pacers, LOL!!!!

You are right let's take the Dunleavey's and Murphy's of this league and build us a championship franchise. They can do it.

Nevermind Detroit who has a team of misfits starting with Chauncey Billups and Rasheed Wallace.

I am amazed at you people!

In case you were unaware, the Pacers have NO SECOND ROUND PICK!!! The pacers traded away their second round draft pick + two future second round draft picks for James White. They then cut James White before the season ever started!!!

Where is James White now? On the San Antonio Spurs roster.

I think Bird is only good in a basketball jersey. Wow, what bad decisions he and the pacers office are making! Really, the whole organization makes me sick.

Despite not having one of the top two overall picks, the Hawks won big last night. They didn't have to give their pick to the Suns since they got the #3 pick and they got the Pacers' first rounder.

I'll be breaking down what I think every team in the lottery will do to try to help their team in the draft and in the offseason. My blog is http://bjbasom1.blogspot.com

As for the Pacers, they are going nowhere fast despite playing in the Eastern Conference. They need to trade Jermaine O'Neal because he deserves to play for a contender and the Pacers could use a good young point guard if they could get one for O'Neal. They might also want to try to trade for a first round pick in this year's draft because there really are a lot of good players in the draft this year not named Oden or Durant.

Too bad Conley didn't stay in school for another year because the Pacers, barring a miracle season or another one of Bird's front office ****-ups, will definitely be picking in the lottery.

That's it... I am done. As bad as any of these guys were, including Ron Artest, none of them are as bad off the court as Bird and Donny have been at their jobs. These two have handled this situation absolutely cluelessly. They should have told some Pacer fans to kiss their "ars's" and ride all these players, we let go, to. They should have brought a disciplinarian in like John Thompson or let him rule the roost. How can anyone see a silver lining in this unless you are totally blind???

Only a fool would say this is better than what we had!!

They'll never go for it, Larry. Settle for a 4th round pick. Now go get 'em.
