NBA predictions a slam dunk? Nope

Full story: Chicago Tribune

The bad news this season was supposed to be Tim Donaghy, not that the Bulls are on pace to finish 32-50. Anyone have that? I was close.

bulls are a disaster scene. if any of the current guys are traded, they will be big stars elsewhere. the bulls problems are team chemistry, starting at the top. team needs to be sold or moved elsewhere. i don't see anything helping. guys like koke, gashol, and KG should be so thankful they didn't come here.

All the GM's were making fun of the Hornets GM two years ago when he made a cheap deal for chandler and paid Peja a bunch of money to come to the hornets. Now who is laughing? I said it then that he was building a solid starting lineup and big surprise it has worked wonderfully for them. I am happy that chandler got a chance to show what he can do I knew he had the drive and potential to improve something the headstrong Paxson and Skiles would have surpressed.

Paxson doesn't have the fortitude to build a team he just likes to collect defensive players or one-dimensional players. They are done a piss poor mix of untalented over paid cry babies that throw tantrums when they get shown up or don't get their way. Hey Paxson I thought you were trying to collect high character guys??? Well you failed at that too...

DeShawn, you're all wet. Eddie Curry isn't a "star" in New York. Take Chris Paul away from Tyson Chandler and you've got an oversized string bean who can rebound but has very limited offensive skills. Bulls franchise doesn't have to be sold or moved. What kind of nonsense is that? They do need better drafting, trading, coaching and evaluation of talent/character, and a little better luch all-around. The idiots like you are the same kind of mopes who unfairly ostracized Jerry Krause. Let's get rid of Hinrich, Gordon, Deng, etc. and wish them well wherever they go, but let's make sure we the Bulls get solid players in return.

Fixing the Bulls wouldn't be to hard but it would require a plan something Johnny Boy either doesn't stick to or doesn't have.

First they should go after MJ and try to rope-a-dope Gerald Wallace away with a package of Ben Gordon and maybe Joe Smith and Duhon or Viktor. They may want a little more which would also be fine. If you can't get him make a strong push for Josh Smith the hawks may not be willing to pay him what he wants. Either of these two guys would give us a tremendous defender and great slashing styles on offense and they would be a perfect complement to Kirk. I would even consider getting both these guys by sending Loul straight up for one of them.

Second you have to get rid of Ben Wallace he is a cancer and his lack of ability and care is just pathetic. So you might as well do the long proposed Gasol deal so everyone will finally stop freakin talking about it already! Memphis wants expiring contracts and young talent so we would need a three way deal to acquire the expiring contract that would be valuable to memphis since Paxson blew PJ's... So maybe Lakers would go in if we took a bad contract off their hands and we could get Kwame's expiring contract.
Bulls Get
Gasol
Radmonovich
Maybe some bench crap from memphis

Lakers get
Ben Wallace
Maybe a second round pick or a bench player.

Memphis gets
Tyrus Thomas
Noce - cause they love him(so do I)
Viktor / Duhon maybe both if we still have them.
Kwame Brown
2 first rounders in the next five years from Bulls.

That would give us a great starting Five and they would complement each others styles. They would be highly competitive and in the east would probably be perenail favorites.

PG Kirk
SG Gerald Wallace / Josh Smith
SF Loul Deng
PF Pau Gasol
C Noah
6th Thabo / Radmonovich
BN Gray

I think Tyson Chandler is a late developer and will soon ba an All-Star. So, the Bulls traded both Elton Brand and Tyson Chandler, two centers they now desperately need, and got almost zilch in return. That makes the Cubs' trade of Lou Brock seem like a minor error.

Everyone knocks the Tyson Chandler trade but the majority of people in Chicago gave up on him early and were glad to see him go. Hindsight is 20/20. He developed with Chicago and is now playing for a better coach in Byron Scott and has a phenomenal PG in CP3, not to mention a fantastic frontcourt teammate in David West. Chandler is thriving due to his environment as much as due to his development.

obviously your ability for judging talent is as flawed as your ability in making predictions. any idiot could have foresaw this Bull's season, I'm not surprised at all. And your list for 1st team NBA players is almost equally as stupid. how anyone could pick either Steve Nash or Chris Paul over Kobe Bryant for 1st team NBA is incomprehensible. In fact there are a couple of other guards(Brandon Roy, Tony Parker, Allen Iverson)that I would take before those two. And I'd bet most NBA coaches would feel the same. But I guess thats why you don't coach the game and just write goofy columns about it and make even goofier predictions.

Hey Sam:

Wouldn't it be nice if the Bulls still had Elton Brand, Ron Artest and Brad Miller? Maybe Jerry Krause wasn't such a fool after all.

As I remember Kruase traded all those guys and more just to get Jalen Freaking Rose and Tyson Chandler.

Aldridge, Chandler and Brand... all let go at various times ... Too bad.

Now, the present Bulls players look like average performers ... No All-Stars on the roster ... So, if all of them are traded away ... Any bets on which ones will become All-Stars on other teams due to better coaching and management?

Roy over Paul? Wow. I'm with you on the Kobe argument though, I think he can make a VERY solid case for MVP.

The word "Bulls" should not appear in print with these other hard working NBA teams.

The Bulls should make it easy on every one and just forfeit all of their remaining games.

Hinrich and Wallace to the Nets for Jason Kidd, a cheap center (Williams?) and some random old guy that makes less than $1 million. With an experienced point guard who routinely gets 10 assists and rebounds, who needs a poorly shooting but loveable pg like Hinrich and Wallace. Kidd to Deng, Kidd to Gordon. Even Kidd to Noah, Thomas or Smith. Sounds good to me.

As I have said previously, the Bulls are a mish-mosh (r@p. There is no legitimate point gurad on the team. There is no legitimate center. There is no real power forward.
Tyrus Thomas shows flashes of brilliance for 3 minutes at a time and then disappears. Chris Duhon? He's a good 4th-5th person off the bench on a contender. Adrian Griffin...are you serious?
What a comglomeration of untradeable and uninspired athletes. Skiles got more out of this rag-tag group of journeyman-type players than nerly anybdy else could have gotten.
They are in what......the 11th year of their rebuilding program???

It will take 2-3 horrible seasons for the Bulls to get enough good draft positions before they can legitimately rebuild. Too bad they don't drop the ticket prices during this period.
