Dallas was up 2-0 in the series and led Miami in the Third Quarter of Game Three. Then Miami makes a miracle comeback to win the game. Dwayne Wade goes to the line 18 times.

Game Four: Miami wins handily to tie the series up at 2-2. However, Jerry Stackhouse caught Shaquille O'Neal with a flagrant foul that resulted in him being suspended for Game 5. Mavericks officials called the suspension of Stackhouse, who was a key player, unfair. Shaq later publicly said that the Stackhouse foul was less vicious than a love tap from his daughters.

Game Five: Miami wins in OT. Dwyane Wade shot as many free throws as all the Mavericks combined! He set an NBA Finals record for most made free-throws in a game with 21. After a controversial play in which many fans thought Wade committed a backcourt violation, Wade hit the game-winning free throws with 1.9 seconds left.

Game Six: Miami wins the game and the series. Wade once again goes to the line an unusually large number of times (21). Four Mavs players are called for five fouls each.

FUN SERIES FACT: Dwyane Wade shattered the free throw record in a 6 game NBA Finals with 97 attempts and 75 makes. He averaged over 16 free throw attempts a game.

So, in light of the fixed games scandal of NBA referee Timothy Donaghy, and his recent allegations about the 2002 Western Conference Finals series, do you believe that the 2006 NBA Finals was fixed as well?

I absolutely thing that the Dallas Miami series was fixed. It is obvious that the NBA didnt like Cuban and his team. A total disgrace. It could be Dirk instead of Dwayne doing T mobile commercials.

Actually, the 2006 finals was one of the best finals I have seen in a long time.. UNlike last years. And no it wasnt fixed Miami won that thing because SOMEONE stepped up their game.

Are you out of your mind??? The Heat won that series fair and done and it WAS because Dwyane Wade showed up in those 4 games and Dirk didnt. That team had a lot of veterans too anyone saying this series was fixed is totally f^cked up.

how so? the only reason i ever hear the heat won is because dirk choked.
theres no way. dont you think that its stupid that the heat won by 1 point, and dwayne wade shot more free throws than the mavericks?
if it was a team other than the heat, you know you wouldve thought it was rigged.
i dont think ive ever seen bigger proof of the nba being rigged than when i watched that series.

Gee, shocker that "Michael in Dallas, Tx" thinks the series was rigged. Try thinking with your head and not emotionally please. The NBA is rigged? So why in the world did the Nets get to two Finals? About as piss-poor and small market as it gets. And with all due respect to Tim Duncan- no way that market gets 4 titles if the NBA is rigged. The Heat won the series because Wade went aggressive to the basket. Thats going to get him foul calls, and that will make the other team a bit on their heels defensively. Standing outside taking jumpers (Dirk) is not going to put you on the foul line. The only reason you think it was rigged is because your team didn't win.

Tim Donaghy was a referee in that series. Enough suspicion for me...

That finals was so blatantly fixed, it's not even funny. Wade would trip and fall down and they'd call a foul on a Mavs player. I don't even know why anyone questions it. It was ridiculous.

It was fixed, anyone who watched it could see that. If it wasn't fixed then it was simply the worst reffing job in the history of modern sports. Its because David Stern hates Mark Cuban

Since MJ retired, the NBA has scrambled to find a replacement. The Heat won the finals because Stern wanted Dwyane Wade to fill that role. The Mavs didn't have a player with any potential to be the new face of the NBA. As good as Dirk is, he is not an exciting, high-flying Jordanesque player like D-Wade, Kobe, or Lebron. Plus, David Stern hates Cuban's Mavs.

Rigged.

this series was so fixed its just a joke, and i didnt care who won. Wade falls on the floor and random Mavs players get called for fouls. the nba is a joke.

it really seemed to me that this series was fixed. The referees were calling little touching on wade fouls on maverick players. With this not in effect, the outcome of the games could've changed, giving the title to the real winner.

Wade shatters the record for free throws in a 6-game series, gets the record for free throws in any series (even 7 games!), goes to the line for the win in game 5 after a touch foul by Dirk? Rigged.

You guys are conspiracy theorists. It's not called "being fixed" it's called "D-Wade owned you". Besides, how can they even fix it?!

Michael Jordan had some great championships like that, but those WEREN'T fixed. You guys just hate D-Wade.

This series was the final nail in the coffin as far as many NBA fans were concerned. When the Bulls used to get the calls, there were some rumors. When the Lakers "beat" the Kings and the Blazers during the 2001-2003, the rumors got louder. This series finally clinched it.

The series is fixed, the NBA is fixed and the whole bunch of them are on the take. Idiot Stern is more concerned about selling sneakers and ad revenue than on integrity. Thank goodness for the NFL.
