I read somewhere that NASCAR has close to 75 million fans and while that may be a little exaggerated that is still an impressive number of fans. I also saw a tv ratings statistics that the average number of viewers for a race was somewhere between 5.4 and 9.3 million viewers. And that's not including the sometime 200,000 + fans who go to the races. http://www.jayski.com/pages/tvratings2008.htm So I guess there are people who care! The numbers don't add up. 75 million fans, yet the high water mark for viewership was 17.8 million for Daytona, a race that attracts the casual one race a year sports fan. Where are the other 57.2 million every week then?

Where are the other 57.2 million every week then? That's why I said I believed that number to be exaggerated. NASCAR states there are 75 million fans worldwide but I put more faith in the tv ratings. I work in marketing so it's all about the numbers.

NASBORE is for fat, overfed inbred rednecks with few goals in life, except to eat eat fried food all day, and guzzle beer. FACT: most DUI convictions are those who are fans of NASBORE.

FACT: most DUI convictions are those who are fans of NASBORE. Please post where you obtained this so called "fact" from. It would be interesting to see where you obtained this information. I am not from the South, I am not overweight sitting on a couch, I don't eat friend chicken, I don't smoke or drink, nor do I guzzle beer. I have never even had a DUI or any ticket for that matter.

Really now...you are the BORE. Why don't you just bugger off as we all know that nothing but poop comes out of your boring pie-hole.
I am also not from the South, overweight, sitting on a couch, eating friend chicken, smoking or drinking. I prefer to keep my temple clean just as the good Lord has instructed.
Now as for a speeding ticket, well, I did get one about 8 years but I was just keeping up with traffic, Mr. Officer! ;-)

nascar is not a sport men and women driving a car in circles is stupid, but people paying to watch someone else drive in circles is downright dumb. Get a real life and find a real sport.

Ok BLUSTER - you get in a car, drive on a track for 300 laps - about 4 to 5 hrs - and not stop or go to the bathroom.....drive next to 42 other cars, and all going at 200 miles an hour....I BET you wimp out in a half lap!!!

Fit and Tim wrote: <quoted text> These guys who race NASBORE do not train on mtn-road racing bicycles, xc or backcountry skis, kayaks, cross-training or do alot of weight training. All those sports would train muscles, lungs and brain to coordinate better than sitting on the couch and smoke cigarettes all day, which is a NASBORE standard. And anyone who drives in NASBORE could be trained to be slammed around by overeating, and creating a large innertube-shaped-insulated fatroll on the waist. No, NASBORE is not a real sport, only a hyped-up image of noise and rednecks saluting with beer in hand. Rednecks do not participate in sports that require physical endurance using lungs, and years of toned strength. Hahahaha. Too bad it is the most popular sport in the country and I don't even like it. Its okay Timmy don't be jealous
