Tone it down a bit, Smoke...didn't you notice how they strategically used the name "Junior" in the title of the article to reel in all those pathetic Junior fans? You make a great point, the "least important subjects and drivers in the sport" Junior holds the title on both counts.

Back in the days before Jr, the focus in NASCAR was about the winners and the guy's driving up front. We didn't see very much coverage of Robert Pressley, Kevin LePage, Wally Dallenbach, etc., who, while fine drivers, typically finished their seasons waaaaaayyy back in the pack. Now Jr's Nation of Idiots has made him out to be bigger than the sport itself, and that has a lot of RACE fans (myself included) more than a little upset.

Jr can stay, it's that festering boil on NASCAR's hide that calls itself Jr Nation that needs to go.

First, I doubt you really dont know very much about back in the day, and Jr Nation aint going nowhere either. And Jr was voted by the fans as NASCARs Most Popular Driver so,.... there are only a few of you haters out there, we got the numbers and we are tired of nit-wits like you being mouthy about our driver. We get it, you dont like Jr and his fans, shut-up about it, we want to talk racin, not what a few ignorant flippies think about Jr.....

So, if you "doubt" that I "really don't know very much about back in the day", then you are acknowledging that I do, right? You need a remedial English class, and possibly some stronger meds.

I think I talk my southern english just fine, and NO, I dont think you know anything about back in the day, not back in the real day. Rex White was the NASCAR champ the year I got serious about stockcar racin, the year was 1960. You mentioned Robert and Wally, and you were right, they were all great drivers and had little regonition, Im proud to have watched the Presslys at the old Asheville Speedway, along with Jack Ingram and Bosco Lowe, Harry Gant, Tommy Houston and the no quitter Morgan Shepard. Read about ole Rex, he won his championship using his own money as most drivers did back then, that is back in the day. Oh, and Rex didnt have money for a motel or a fancy motorhome, he and his crew often slept under the racecar and the pick-up that hauled it to the track. thats back in the day, what you got? And your right, I need an increase in my meds, my arthritis is getting really unbearable somedays, just went for my yearly check-up, Doc said I was alright in my head, just my frame is breaking down. So ill agree that I need stronger arthritis medication.

I make no excuses for JR, hes not winning and that sucks. Hell, lets be real, he aint even pulling out any good finishes. But as a fan, I have to hope for a turnaround in his career at some point. Will it happen next year? Hell, I dont know, I aint got one of them crystal balls that reveals all, but I hope he does better next year, and yes, his age is starting to be a factor, he is not Jr no more, hes Dale, the full growed man. Time slips up on all of us. Its just my hope that time is kind to Jr and dont pass him by. I think his biggest mistake as a driver is not driving like his Dad, he shouldnt have been so concerned about being sqeaky clean, being a lot more aggressive would have helped Jr in a lot of races, I like that about Kyle Busch, his driving is great, his behaviour is not becoming of a NASCAR champ, thats why he aint made it to the champ status...his behaviour. but you know how it is to be a fan of one of the many drivers we have to pull for, you defend them to no end, hope you can say the same thing!

Well, let's analyze this fantastic accomplishment Jr has obtained for 8 consecutive years, "Most Popular Driver!" How does one vote for this "award?" They go and click a few times on the "Hamburger Helper" website, where they can return everyday to vote again and again and even use multiple email addresses to vote several times each day. So be it, the voting process to "award" NASCAR's "Most Popular Driver."

Now, what type of person, aka "fan," has the time to waste with so much tom-foolery? That would be the unemployed, trailer trash types who have all day to waste searching online, looking for new and exciting ways to prepare their "Hamburger Helper" for supper tonight. And, while they're on their favorite recipe web-site, they may as well vote multiple times for Dale Jr, the worthless hick of NASCAR to win something,'cuz Lord knows he ain't gonna be winning any Sprint Cup championships anytime soon. So, ultimately, it's NASCAR's most pathetic fans that keep voting Junior "Most Popular Driver" over and over. And it's those same fans that keep parading Junior's MAJOR accomplishment, that being 8 years of pathetic performance BUT, he's still MPD, an award that is not earned, an accomplishment that is meaningless, but to his fans...it's ALL Junior has so they announce it proudly. And what does Junior get for it to display on his trophy shelf? Perhaps a giant inflatable hand with "Hamburger Helper" proudly emblazoned on it, right under Junior's name to credit yet another year of his fantastic accomplishment. The trailer trash supported MPD award. Coooooollll!

How appropriate, that Junior's claim to fame would be awarded by a product that in order to make it palatable you "just add ground beef" 'cuz in order to make Junior tolerable you have to "just add exaggerated hype" and wash it down with a few six-packs.

Yep, I'd say that MPD award is something to be proud of, especially when it's all Junior has for his fans to brag about.

Some of us ain't gotta "defend" our favorite drivers, because they can actually drive and they win. You only have to "defend" a driver that is obviously out of his league but won't admit that he can't compete with the real talent.

Mr BarnaPUS, You forgot the Daytona 500 he won and the Nationwide championships he earned. Yeah, hes lacking right now but being a fan is hoping for a better day. You know a lot more about Hamburger Helper than me jackoff, and if your favorite driver was voted MPD you would be just as proud of that for him as Jrs fans are of him. Give it up nit-wit, Jr and his fans are here to stay, aint a damn thang you or anybody else can do about it........except flap your silly jibs with all this Jr hate. Jr gives you guys a purpose, without him you couldnt write your hate shit on this forum. The very thing you loathe gives you purpose. So go heat you up some of last nights HBH, and shut your stupid pie hole. Aint nothin you say gonna change the fact that I am a Jr fan. Whos your favorite driver BarnaPUS? Lets talk trash about him for a change, Its all been said before about Jr, lets change the topic to your driver, just for a change..........what do ya think BarnaPUS?
