I have benn lucky enough to have attended the Nationals at Knoxville two times. As a long time fan and former driver of dirt track racing there isn't any event to compare with Knoxville. However you list only two California drivers how about Jason Meyers ( who Tyler Walker cost a win by a showboat move he should have known better just trying to get on TV)Tim Kaeding,Randy Hannigan
Paul McMahon and several others. I hope John Allard does well at Knoxville this year he is a credit to the sport I can't say the same for Tyler Walker.

Your comments about Tyler Walker are just plain ignorant drivel. Tyler was carrying a lot of speed through turns 3-4 and the front straight pit entry is not easy to turn into in one of these cars at that speed. By the time he missed the entry there was the issue of the hot oil that had splattered into the cockpit area and he was justified to park it where he did. Meyers lost the race because he was BEAT by Shatz not because Walker cost him the race. Yellow and red flags happen in this sport, if you watch enough of it you seem them all the time in main events. I say walker will finish higher than any other Californian and I say that fully wishing that TK wins the whole darn thing. The truth is though, Walker is an incredibly talented driver who is awesome to watch pass cars at Knoxville. In a class of his own.

The article was poorly done with regards to naming the California talent that actually will be attending. TK is a California resident who just happens to travel to races all over. Jason Meyers is a California resident who travels with the Outlaws. This isnt very hard to understand. I wish members of the media would do more research before writing articles about our great sport. It would help if the general public knew how well California is represented on the national sprint car scene. That said I look for Allard to finish high in the B main, Tyler Walker and Tim Kaeding to get top 10's in the A main and Jason Meyers to get a top 3 finish. Hannigan and McMahan will be wild cards that could end up any where from c main to A main on the final night. Hannigan does have a knack for the big tracks so he could be the sleeper in this deal.

Are you going to the Nationals? We are in Pa, but my sister is in Ca. We catch a few races in Ventura when we can. Did Brooke Tatnell ever make it out to Ca? He is the Australian driver that comes to the states when it's peak season here. I think he has been all over the US, but I could be wrong. He was going to race in the Nationals, but infortunetly the driveshaft broke during TT last week at Port Royal, Pa. It broke his leg in 3 places, and he had to have surgery. He is recovering, and will be at Knoxville watching.
