NASCAR is back - and so is Juniormania. Dale Earnhardt Jr. reclaimed the spotlight in Daytona speedweeks, winning pole position for the Daytona 500 with a lap of 186.089 mph in qualifying Sunday.

so glad he has the pole but it doesn't matter after watching the race last weekend. it is who is your friend and helps you. did anyone notice JJ NEVER did push anyone just Joey pushing him. Joey did not drop down and push nor help either of his teammates. maybe Joey will replace Jr at Hendricks. LOL

Jr rarely "helps" anyone else on the track, he expects others to help him, but when it comes to returning the favor, he's usually not there for them. Always been that way, he has a sense of entitlement, an attitude that he is the one they are supposed to be pushing to a win, not the other way around. Of course, all the drivers are out there to win, but most of the drivers are mature enough to know that working together can get you farther than snubbing the competition will, especially on a track like Daytona.

If he had moved up to "push" Kyle last weekend, he wouldn't have been back where he got caught up in that wreck. It was like he was lifting on purpose to avoid getting up behind Kyle. Sure wasn't a wise move on his part, but then, maybe that's why he's not winning championships.

He flat out said during the break that he wasn't happy being pushed by Kyle and he wanted to be with his baby sitter. It seves him right for not sticking with the guy who was keeping him up front.

Considering the point of racing is to be out front, you'd think Junior would be wise enough to realize that if Kyle is "ahead" of you, latching onto his bumper is a good plan. Instead, Junior hung back and got himself wrecked.

What about that Jr??? He wouldnt have got caught up in that wreck if Carl Edwards hadnt hit his car........just sayin. And what a restart by ol Kyle, passed everybody before turn one, hadnt seen that move in a while! I know you dont like Jr, but if he starts winning and finishing good, would your opinion change of him or are we gonna go with the "fixed" arguement?? Im in Daytona, cant wit till Thursday for the 125s!!! Jr got the pole, straight up!!

Well I hope NASCAR makes sure JR has the restrictor plate put back on the motor before the 500. That is the only way he won the pole. He will drop back to mid pack or farther after the start of the 500.

Now thats just silly. The suggestion that NASCAR is helping Jr is just plain silly!!! I think he will avoid mid pack at all costs, with drivers like Carl Edwards being mid pack he would surely get wrecked again. And if he does go mid pack it will onlt be because he lost the draft, but that wont happen, drivers love to draft with Jr. He can pick and choose who he wants to draft with, I dont blame him for dissin Kyle in the Shootout.

So The Junior smacked the wall today and has to pull out the back up car. What a surprise. There goes the pole The Junior.

What a Maroon!

When...WHEN will The Junior Nation finally pull their heads out of their sixes and admit that their namesake is the mediocre slacker of a driver that he is???

Back-up car..........guess Jr will have to just drive himself back to the front in Earnhardt fashion. He will just have to watch out for Carl Edwards. Of course it could be in the script NASCAR had written in its attempt to get Jr to Victory Lane. This just adds to the drama and will make his victory that much more spectacular..........yeah right! If he loses hes dissed, if he does good its fixed. I have never seen so much bullshit written about one particular driver ever!!

I agree with you.

I have never seen so many excuses, finger pointing and blame throwing that Jr. fans do.

Yeah!!!

What Jim Said!

The Junior Nation spews so much BS about every driver but The Junior. When ever The Junior screws up (which is quite often), there is always an excuse or explaination as to why it was someone elses fault from The Junior Nation.

He is a slacker. He is a mediocre driver at best. He is a marketing tool to sell t-shirts, Wrangler jeans, dis cast race cars, etc. If it wasn't for his name, he would have faded into obscurity long ago.

No hate here...just the truth. Members of The Junior Nation...the truth will set you free.
