I just wish I knew how the show put a "slant" on her or tried to make her look bad? The words I base my opinion on came out of HER mouth!I don't think the show edited IN words?
media rep for the Yellow car team is not going to be exposed to things like TV shows.. this is a small budget NASCAR team.. not an advertising agency
do you know that when they make movies, they can change the entire meaning with editting? yesterday when they had the press conference at JGR, remember how embarrassed many of you were that there were probably the 4 usual reporters? this show NASCAR in Primetime is trying to get people to watch NASCAR.. they make it out to be a soap opera.. who knows in the HOURS that they were filming Courtney.. if these things that were on the show were different from the ones that were cut. People can be portrayed in many different ways by editting..I myself am going to let the poor girl live with her humiliation.. I am going to feel sorry for her and since I will never see her, I am going to forget about this rather quickly and always stay away from television cameras myself.

Cortney was Miss Wisconsin USA. She didn't place in the big pagent. She used to be the media rep for Menard's racing. Seems like she really set her sights on a racer because fresh out of college she went to work as a media rep for Champ Car racing in Wisconsin and seems to have stayed in racing with a number of jobs.

Actually, I have a little different take on her. Yes, she's a racer chaser, but I think Johnny treats her like crap. His attitude is so bad that he berrates her all the time. She is annoying, but he's even more so.

HUH??? Does she live in a BUBBLE??? Just because she works for a small team means nothing about what she's knows about TV. Freshman in high school know that there's spin put on TV shows, my 3 year old knows if you act up people pay attention to you. Courtney Owen surely understood what might happen when she signed up to be on this program, heck I'd bet she's loving the attention she's getting, even the bad attention because here's her 15 minutes of fame. Maybe I'm missing the point of what you're trying to say. If so, please, explain it to me.

I do get your point that things were taken out of context and that ABC/ESPN made it extra dramatic to gain viewers. I do get that, I don't subscribe to that way of thinking but I DO GET IT.

Care to say you COULD understand where I might see her as a shallow, petty opportunist? LOL

Not sure what this statement means?
I never said she was a advertising agency, I said she IS LISTED as media contact/Rep on the Yellow website.........On another note Its one thing for the media to be in the moment but something all together differant when its a filmed series ~If it was Me and I was going to be on a Documentary/TV show ~ I would want to see before I approve?

I think we agree people are entitled to their opinion. It feels like you rarely acknowledge other people's opinions as valid - it seems like you're always saying "well that's wrong, this is how it is and I'm going to keep telling you how wrong you are every chance you get". I can respect your point of view, but I'd respect it a lot more if you won't shove it in my(our) face over and over again, preaching that opinions that differ from yours are just wrong, wrong, wrong.
Burn her at the stake? Come on, she went on this show KNOWING fans would talk about her. If you can feel sorry and empathy for her it only FAIR that others won't see her that way.
finally, yeah, yeah, poor Courtney Owen and Tara Roquemore. I just can't feel all that sorry for them over the things said on this little website. Everyone is has their own cross to bear in life...it's how you carry it that matters.
Debi's life revolves around having a differant opinnion than everyone else.
As long as I've been on this board she has always waited to hear where most people were going with a certain subject then she would jump in with a 180 differance of opinnion....she does it on purpose because she loves to argue. She has no other purpose in her life except to be antagonistic towards those around her.

First off, you tight ass WAD you, I never said that the Bristol race was boring...I never made a post to that or commented on that so get your facts straight and stop your finger pointing. Secondly, you Debi, wish for an out and out crash or wreck because that is what you deem excitable in racing...well you are no race fan. All I said was sometimes you may wish for a caution and that is only so that your driver can either pit to fix a loose/tight car, get gas and tires and maybe position himself better on the track in the meantime. This does not constitute wishing for a wreck and a possible injury to a driver (like maybe your beloved Tony). You are such a complete moron...by the way nice work on trying to turn around what I said to suit your angle but you are too stupid to even make a sensible arguement. Did make me laugh though. Ummm....no. LOL! Heck I dont even cook well at all.

I have no association with NASCAR at all. Basically I had a friend on a team that got me in from time to time. I am an engineer and only wanted to attend to learn more about NASCAR. I was by no means chasing a driver or anyone else by that means.

I sure hope your right about the editing, because her comments and reactions about crashes were not good. Other than that she seemed very supportive of Johnny who I'm not sure deserves it. I'm sure itís a hard business and they are apparently naive to a lot of it. Good luck to them because after that show they will need it.

Okay...the sky I know of actually had some kind of charity work going on with Hendrick...( I think it had something to do with cookbooks, but I'm not positive)...and she was an airline pilot...I think I remember her being kind of tight with Jeff's ex crew cheif Robby Loomis...so I guess that's not you..lol..

She is the PR rep for Paul Menard, so Deb, she'd be working for DEI...I think the girl is very young and immature, but I think she's been around long enough to know the deal and she seems to follow the "any press is good press" school of thought.

http://www.jayski.com/pages/pitcrew-chart2007...

I still say Johnny's PR person should be fired for signing on to this, I don't know who has shown more incompetance at Hass/CNC-the accountants or the PR dept...

you understanding answered your own question to me.. I would say that she honestly probably did think that she was doing Johnny some good by being followed and as I said, she is probably the only girlfriend who volunteered.. who are the other girlfriends? Stremme, Bowyer..these guys probably don't need the publicity and maybe they even saw how even Kevin and Delana's privacy was intruded on too much on the 360 show. Who knows? I do not know Courtney or Johnny, I do not really care what they do..I just refuse to believe everything I see and I do feel that they editted it to be the most entertaining that they could get..they love to have villains and they love controversy. I just hope that like Dave Moody, the people at the track who know them do not treat them like they have the plague.. everybody makes mistakes.

see, my beloved Tony does not usually need cautions to give him breaks... so I find cautions annoying.. as for wrecks.. I only want them if they are productive, as I said, taking out Jeff or Jimmie..

no, there are threads that I do not post on at all because I do not care about them. I came on here at first to say that Bootie Barker was not as good a crew cheif as you people think because he leaves Johnny out to dry. Also at that time I said that Courtney was as cute as Jenny Macarthy and that she loves Johnny.. then this next show, I came on to talk about how probably the producers editted the hours that they spent with her to make it a huge prime time hit.. I feel for her..
I am surprised each and everyday that all of you think exactly alike, patting each other on the back.. but guess what? on this one, Dave Moody and the people who know Courtney.. agree with me... so go figure that one out will ya?

WHO are these people who know Courtney? LOL care to share the list of people you've talked to that know her?

Maybe Dave was just trying to be nice. It wouldn't be very professional of him or any member of the media to say "Courtney Owen is exactly like she's portrayed on TV".

I saw the show and all that I kept thinking was what a "wind me up Barbie Doll"
Cortney was - only one that is a little off. Anyone who would wish for an accident
isn't right in the head.

And right on with the stupid women comment - it just makes those of us that have a brain
and use it work that much harder!

I like to read these boards, and had to check in when I saw Cortney on TV last night -- it was more painful that watching the final Bachelorette get dumped (You know, "I care about you, but.....")! For someone in PR, she sure should know how the TV/editing game is played. At her core, Cortney seems like a decent person, so, here is my message to her....
Find a life. Yes, you love Johnny, but not in a healthy way. Obviously HE IS NOT THAT INTO YOU!! If he was, he would have married you by now. Telling you he needs to wait until his career is right where he wants it, is a lie to keep you around. Women look for the right man to marry; men marry the woman they are with when they are ready to settle down. Johnny is not ready. Find happiness in your own life, rather that waiting for the stars to allign and Johnny to hit a winning streak (which probably won't happen). Chances are Johnny will end up with a woman who has a life, mental stability and is not wishing destruction on the other drivers.
