I sure hope not. While I'll concede he earned his spot into the Chase, and started off like a man on a mission, I think he won it by being "better lucky than good". It was the bad luck for the 11 and 48 and some help from the 24 that he won it.

Also, his immaturity his showing too loud and proud. His language and partying - not a good role model for the younger Nascar fans imo.

OAS - what do you think of the Nascar.com website? I don't think it's at all user friendly, and more focused on fullscreen pictures than stories or info.

Regarding public media and role model example, I can't recall words or actions regardless of the circumstances, that Matt has been less than professional. I'll add Ryan Newman to that list.

Listen to their uncensored radio communication. They all have rotten mouths on them.People need to realize the drivers R human they have tempers . As far as role models go which is worst a kid swearing like a driver . Or think it is cool to drive over 200 mph like their favorite driver???? I know as a kid growing up watching racing .. When I got my licence I drove more then once like Richard Petty. And will admit ( I am lucky to be alive):)

For whatever their reasons, people who have never watched a Nascar race drive fast and risky, giving little thought to consequences, especially those that might involve other innocent drivers, pedestrians, or even passengers in their own vehicles. And drugs or alcohol may/may not necessarily be a factor.

Nascar drivers' uncensored communication is no different than anyone else's I'm sure. My point is that in most cases they try to choose their words carefully during interviews, autograph signings, public appearances, etc. BK hasn't learned that yet, and with his attitude, he may never get it. I think Nascar, his owner, sponsor and fans are lenient because of his success.

seriously... well let me think... just because they make toy race cars for kids should not make NASCAR a moral training tool for children.. it is doing danger activity for one thing... let us see which sport would be a moral teaching tool?? how about tennis? and then think of John McInrow and the sisters and the druggies... hmmm... the ball sports have murderes playing them now... how about golf?? no.. tiger is a really BAD role model... how about swimming??? they even took down the last olympic champ... if you have a problem with adults using adult language.. maybe you need to address the media who no longer bleep it out.. of ANYTHING including prime time TV... and then you need to understand that this is actually all part and parcel of DESTROYING the moral code of this nation by those who own everything and run the joint,, the illuminati...
BUT, I prefer an honest racer who swears to a LIAR that pretends to be squeaky clean as what HE does undermines the sport and the moral code of society even WORSE.

I think that Roger Penske gives his drivers a bit more free reign to be athletes than does Rick Hendrick who emasculates those that he "owns".. and it is amazing that people look up to the more controlling hendrick who CHEATS, lies and in the process STEALS from all the rest.
but,,, when did all this restrictive behavior actually start??? I think there was a guy in the booth who was so jeolous and he knew his numbers would soon fade into history named DW... yup.. THAT guy was the guy who not only muzzled the drivers but also had them using PC "conjested traffic" etiquette during a race.. I dispise DW for his immmature behavior as a jeolous pathetic hasbeen...
And Marky Mark too for stopping other drivers from racing so he could end up with decent finishes, undeserved..watching Marky mark finish a race to get a decent finish after all the rest had crashed out at Daytona the year he whined that he woulda won had they called a caution and froze the field, makes me realize what a chump Jimmie and chad are as they fall back, close to speeds that should remove them from the track when they hope a caution will not come out and they will "win" because they are the only ones who can make it on fumes.. yeah real racing...
I hope for the sport that a young man named Brad will not be neutered the way they did to a tiger named Tony...

while I like Ryan,, the only reason he ever got any wins was because of pit strategy with Matt Borland which I felt was cheating and now in these years since so many others have figured that out, it has changed the sport to be not racing anymore.. so,, that credit actually goes to Matt Borland... and it is hillarious that driver/crew cheif combos who manage to "outsmart" due to the luck of no cautions or cautions falling, are hearalded as being anything special compared to a guy who races like Tony and Kyle used to, and Brad DOES.
as for Matt... he used to be too quiet... his talent hid becasue he was too quiet.. I am glad that the media appreciates his humor and gives him attention now because it used to be that they did not and it seemed like he did not have the talent that he does have. It is to be admired that the cat in the hat gave Matt equipment to compete when Matt was leaving the stable.. that cat in the hat is quite the man and I hope Biff can step up into Matts shoes there.

I don't think any driver should win a championship or be allowed one if they are on probation.
