Looks like almost 1/3 of the field in trouble already.

If Nascar goes wild with penaltites on this, every car in the top 10, with the exception of 48, 88 and 29 would be effected. Hmmm .....

It would also most likely assure all 4 Hendrick cars are in the top 10. Tony is so far down in points, I don't know how much he would benefit from it.

They might as well end the season now and just give the trophy to JJ.

Fortunately, Stenhouse Jr has enough points lead over DP that I don't think this will hurt his RoY status much.

So you're saying its ok to cheat as long as its not Jimmie & Chad?

Funny how Jamie Mac's car was illegal but not JPM's. Just goes to show some were willing to take a risk at cheating and some weren't.

All of them should be docked six points and the 2 car should be hit very hard since it's their third time getting caught cheating this year.

With 6 points about the only change would be knocking Joey out and Kasey into the top 10. And since it's Joey's second time getting caught this year I say good!

Please, They need to penalize the manufacturer who gave them the bad parts. And You're another Jr fan who's jealous of Brad's talent

You truly are a stupid idiot!! The illegal part had nothing at all to do with the manufacturers. The manufacturers don't build the cars. The teams do!! The teams changed safety parts. And why the hell do you have to bring Jr into every conversation !! Jr had nothing to do with this either!! He didn't cheat!! Why don't you just shut up when you don't know what you're talking about.

I'm perfectly capable of saying what I mean and meaning what I say - and you won't find any derivative of the word "cheat" in my post. I do not justify cheating under any circumstances, and I'm not convinced that term is even applicable here. It is totally ridiculous to think that 8 different Cup owners decided to illegally alter the same part for the same race!

I believe it was Larry Mac who said during qualifying he anticipates perhaps a monetary fine. These decisions are typically made on Tuesdays following the race. The roof flaps in question were changed before practice this afternoon - congrats to JGR #18 and #20 for sitting on the front row. In fact, 7 of the top 10 starting spots were grabbed by cars affected in this incident.

And Jeff Hammond said since they played with safety parts and that's a big no-no. He thinks the penalties could be harsh. That one thing NASCAR is really sticklers on is the safety of the car. Tuesday could be a very interesting day in the racing world.

What will make it especially interesting is if Nascar is consistent with 16 of some of their top names. Brian France has made no secret that Keselowski has avoided penalites because he likes him.

Dumb ass the manufactures did not force these parts on them they had to order them or make them. They were just trying
to cheat the system.

All the cheaters that are on probation should get a double dose of punishment. I guess now we will find out if probation means anything...

My first pick is Tony, and I'd really love to see Denny get a win. Matt's a good guy, and if the Chase comes down between the 20 and the 48, the fan favorite is definitely Matt. Sorry to see the 11 & 20 have such a bad night. SHR put two teams in the top 10, so not a terrible night for them.

A great article!
A little harsh, wasn't it? But, can't argue with the writer. He made his point. He told it like it is. Only JJ's fans don't think he is a whiner.
