Look real close at the center of the first picture. See those empty seats? And the crowds flocked? Your spectator dollar is better spent on the Saturday night local short tracks.

VERY TRUE!!!! It's good to see the little guy with a back yard racer on a shoestring manage to beat out a big dollar car with a sponsor with deep pockets that can afford four new tires every week and all the latest hardware . It's good to take the kids to the pits after the main and let them get close to the drivers,take pictures and smell the paint,oil,and hot rubber. That's old time racing!

1. Change sanctioning body to anything but A$$CAR
2. more real tracks ie. road courses
3. get rid of plates and let them fly
4. get rid of 80% of the panzy rules
5. ban Michael Waltrip from the sport

NASCAR doesn't need to be better for casual fans because NASCAR's fan base is basically just casual fans. That's largely why NASCAR attendance and viewership are down and why NASCAR video games sell poorly. They see the commercials with high-octane announcer guy, rock music, fast cars, and crashes so they tune in for a while and then get bored with it. You can't sell a sport on "fast and crashes" and expect people to become life-long, passionate fans. "Fast and crashes" is a casual thing. It's also hard to get serious about a sport that doesn't take itself seriously, with childish cartoon gophers, "Crank it Up!" pumping stereo graphics, and "Boogity boogity boogity!" which things are clearly geared towards kids and casuals.
