If Petty Enterprises really wants to do something meaningfull with the car they should look to the Nationwide or truck series for a young driver that is showing some talent that hasn't been sucked up by one of the large teams yet. Better yet, check out the young talent in ARCA that has been running regularly in a heavier car and is showing some promise. Anything is better than the dismal waste of money that the 45 car has been this year.

If you want a cracked up racecar and a REAL waste of money; if you don't want any information or REAL feedback on what's going on with your car, a great young talent would be perfect. Who do you think helped get the 11 team back on it's feet before your fantastic young phenom Denny Hamlin stepped into it?

Kyle Petty became the youngest driver in history to win an Arca race in 1979, in what his father Richard called "the worst Dodge I ever drove".(the Dodge Magnum). What a tank. It wasn't unit Kyles son, Adam, beat that record, that America noticed Adam Petty. Kyle hasn't lost his ability to drive race cars. Both he and Richard let the grass grow under their feet a bit, but their coming back and Labonte in 'ole 43 is heding at the top 12.
Give Kyle some slack here gents! Kyle has won more Sprint Cup races then 98% of the drivers that ever drove race cars in NASCAR Sprint Cup. I'm a huge Richard Petty fan, still a huge fan at the age of 40, having watched David Pearson wreck the King at the 1976 Daytona 500 on the last lap and Petty emerging with a smile, quoted as saying, "Ah heck, we'll get a win next week, it 'ant no big deal." This a'nt no big deal either. Put the 6 pack down and take a breath.
If NASCAR hadn't screwed up this sport the Petty's would be doing just fine down there in Dixie. Watch some Mountain Dew Kyle Petty races and come back and tell me he can't drive. Watch those mid 80's Daytona 500's and tell me how smooth you claim he isn't. I think you're all in for a surprise this weekend at Watkins Glenn. Kyle Petty can drive, and he can drive the best on a road Coarse. Put your seatbelts on gents. To me, Ya' all sound like a bunch of Yankee's stuck rear end down in a Chicken Farm.

There has never been a bigger Petty than me. Well, mayber one but cancer took him from us last year so that leaves me. I've spent more money on going to NASCAR races and spent more time standing in autograph lines than I care to remember. I even have a credit card with Kyle's photo on it however the fact is he needs to retire. Firstly, Kyle is envolved in too much other than driving the car that is a direct distraction from driving the car. Second, time has taken it toll on his abilities in the car.
There is no one in NASCAR that I respect more than Kyle Petty but when it's time, it's time.
