How can u even say that tony didnt know matt was there, where was tony going? I know maybe he was gonna try off road racing. I guess it is kinda hard to see that yellow #17 when your running right along side of him. Oh well nothing new from the #20 or his fans. What did i do wrong,it wasnt me it musta been somebody else. Never his driving skills or attitude to blame.

So now his attitude is to blame. I have yet to hear that one. I am not a Tony Stewart fan. I am just a bliever in old racing and not this new Indy stuff Mike Helton is trying to bring in. Dont you find it funny that all of these rules were put in place after Earnharts death. Thats because he would have fought them tooth and toe nail. But now there is no one left to lead the truely faithful. I will leave you with a quote. Do you want to race? I want to race. That by the way was from Earnhart and he died doing what he loved. And that is nothing anyone can ever take from him. So lets race. Without all of these Indy Rules "Rough" driving its racing of course there is going to be rough driving. Suck it up either you want to race or go drive Indy Cars

Tony Stewart should be banned from the sport or at least sit out 5 - 10 races. If anyone had been killed as a result of what he did, I believe Florida would have charged him with murder, especially in light of his statements after the 150 mile qualifier. Joe Gibbs should fire him, regardless of the impact on the team. And, believe it or not, I'm a long time Tony Stewart fan, but I can't abide this any more than I could one of Joe Gibbs' Redskins selling drugs to kids. Stewart should go, or Gibbs isn't the stand-up guy I think he is.

cheating is cheating!!! the 48 car should not have been allowed to race in the Daytona 500**period** this was and "intentional" adjustment that was caught by Nascar before the race and the entire team should have been disqualified from the race. If that sort of penalty were to be given out instead of just making one man sit it out, fewer teams would try those illeagal moves!! be consistant, Nascar*******if you break the rules, you should be disqualified from the race.

Cheating is cheating. The entire 48 team should have been disqualified from the race. If Nascar would disqualify teams when they are caught with illegal equipment, it might stop if from happening again. Just sending the crew cheif home doesn't do any good. Cell phones prove that. Taking a few points from them doesn't do any good either. they should not be allowed to get ANY points from the race that they were caught cheating in. and a fine!!!!!!!!!!well, a mere $25,000 ir $50,000 is a drop in the bucket when you have just been handed a couple of Million ,dollars!! Hey Mike Helton!!! Need some help?? any time you want to slap someones hand, remember,, when you cheat, someone else always pays the price.

tony admitted to doing it on tv or are you not really a fan and watch the whole race

I'm sorry was this your first Nascar race or do you know that if you hit another car at Daytona you screw yours up. Your right the video does speak for its self Tony never knew Matt was there. And then Matt spent 10 min winning about it. And then thought that he should not be penalized for trying to take Tony out after the caution. But I'm sure you are right JJO. Tony did mean to take himself out of competition for the win just to mess with Kenseth that makes more sense.

tony stewart is a punk, always has and always will. he never admits to doing ANYTHING wrong, its always the other guys fault. as for knauss, this weeks offensise was a mistake becasue he was given a track bar adjustment that put pressure on the window and rasied it, but he's a big time repet offender-nascar had to make an example of him based on his past actions. and people, quit making cuts at each other like children, calling somebody a democrat as an insult is a compliment to alot of southerners, who are by the way, MOST race fans!

Marketing that is what you want to call cheating now days!! Intresting.. Funny how his car passed inspection before qualifying and didn't after qualifying.. Hmm hmm does anyone besides me find this funny.. Marketing you Jimmie Johnson fanatic... I bet you were never an Earnhart fan. Because you would know that that is not how you earn respect in a sport like this.. And if you think cheating is okay then go watch and Indy car race. I bet you also think that Mike Helton is the best thing that ever happened to Nascar too don't you.
You missed the point. Every decision NASCAR makes is based on dollars and cents, not on justice. I'm sure they did not want to torque off Hendricks or the major sponsors they have backing them up. At the same time they balance it with how the fan reaction will be. A little controversy is probably good from a marketing point of view. However, if they wanted to do something the general masses would react strongly against (not attending)it would probably not happen. That's why Dale senior never was fined for his on the track crap he pulled. You are right, never could stand big Dale, started off as a David Pearson fan. And if you think the Childress team never cheated I want to compliment you on what you are smoking.

Perhaps i missed this info in this Thread - so forgive me.

The same car that Jimmie won with is the same car that Knaus was finned for. Hmmm, this is what I think sohuld have happened. NASCAR should have impound the car completely and make him use his back up car. In addition, fine Jimmie, Hendrix, Knaus and the entire team.

If you want to send a message, cover the entire field.

Well, that's your opinion. He can drive and is not afraid to stand up for what he believes in. Granted his actions Sunday were drastic, but after what I've read about the race and his point of view with Gordon and Matt - it's good. Mistakes happen. But after swappin paint time and time again - it's time to dish it back.

Remember - Rubbin is racin'. If you ain't swappin' paint you're not in the race.
