Awww man. Maybe I should not look at the stars. I would be the one to get hit by the asteroid.LOL That's a really cool sight. I saw one a long time ago about the odds when you get out of bed each day. I wish I could find it. I found it rather amusing.
Exactly! Like the movie, "The World According to Garp" when the plane crashes into his house he's asked if he wanted to move. He answered no what are the odds of that happening again, lol! That was a freak accident at 'Dega, with the emphasis on freak!

Don't trust those asteroids for a second!!!

You're another one. Can you join one thread without reeking with snideness and condescension? How bad do your days have to be to always be in a foul mood and be personal on every subject, everyday.
At least I can debate something with my opinions and make a point about the point.
How anyone multipled with you is a wonder, but why that person is no longer around you anymore is most certainly, not.
Has anyone dared to "multiply" with you???!!!

Ever ridden Amtrak cross country? They drop about 45-50 MPH when they go through those "towns" you mentioned. 80% of Amtraks rails go through rural areas.
Your comparison would be more likened to the sport if Amtrak lined up seats 25 feet from the railroads AND the trains doubled in speed. Amtrak only goes up to 70 miles an hour, not 190-200.
Re-read my post, I did mention the Metro too. That's our local commuter train. You realize that at 60 mph that train that collided with the freight train killed 21 people I believe.

I think it's a pretty darn good comparison. There's risk in everything and you can't start hiding when some out of left field thing happens. Especially when it rarely happens.

Consider this too: think about how fast that debris and the car hit the fence. Those little pieces of debris probably felt like a bullet hitting-a piece the size of a dime could kill somebody if it hit them, but I will say it again, you go to the race, you assume the responsibility. I fell off a ride once at Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio-fractured knee cap, chipped a bone in the foot on the other leg, had to have my earlobe sewed back on but it was my fault completely-I assumed the risk.

Just look at the facts. The fence did it's job, people walked away and the car stayed on the track. Sure people were hurt but thank god nothing more serious. How many times have you seen a car go up like that? NOT MANY. Some of these incidents are just a fluke and it is not like it happens every week. NASCAR did it's job and did it right!!
I agree, this type of thing does not happen often. If people are scared of being hurt, then I guess they should stay home and watch the race on tv.

No they need to wrap themselves in bubble wrap. If you watch at home your house could catch fire, your recliner could dump you out....Nothing in life is 100% safe. You can not live your life in fear. Me, I'll take my chances at the track and enjoy. Old saying When you die why go to the coffin clean and perfect, come in sliding yelling heck yea what a ride.

Sounds like my kind of fan. Let's strap her into the car! Had it stitched and didn't sue the place. Didn't even complain about the safty. What a concept. Don't know how I missed that post.

It's safer, cheaper, cooler, more comfortable, less traffic, no drunks spewing lunch, you can see more action, no replays at the track, hot dogs are less than $5.00 each, no gouging by lodging owners and I could go on and on!!! The best part is, if everyone felt this way prices would have to go down!!!

Sneeze and have an aneurysim, or in some places sit on your couch and get hit by a stray bullett. Life is too short to worrie about all the things that could have or would have happened. Live life like today is the last day of your life! Make everyday count and have no regrets that you didn't do something because you were worried about what could happen.
