Congress Defends Military Spending in Motorsports; Tea Party Starts Truck Team
Remember the NASCAR posting about Ryan Newman versus the Congresswoman who wanted to cut the Military's budget on motorsports sponsorship? We're not trying to convert to a NASCAR publication, but the backlash has started to make news again.Full Story

Three star Lt Gen Benjamin Freakley, Commanding General of U.S. Army Accessions Command, and his subordinate, two star Major General David L Mann, both of Fort Knox, KY, are leading the charge in support of blowing $17.5 of our hard earned, hard squeezed tax dollars - struggling Americans. For what? To recruit from our most vulnerable Americans age 17-24, who don't have the resources to go to college? These two Generals are trained for combat when we are in two wars. What are they doing hanging out at racetracks, rodeos, ball games, and schools, etc., when they need to be out there on the battlefield doing their real jobs. Recruit young people for the rest of the story - which is serious PTSD, suicide ideation, suicide attempts, and/or suicide. Are these Generals marketing gurus with marketing degrees? No, this is all a smoke screen to avoid going back to their real jobs - the battlefield. They get many accolades from Congress for recruiting and then getting promoted. USAREC is the fast track to getting the fourth star. The U.S. Congresswoman is right in supporting the elimination of our tax dollars for the U.S. Army Generals to ride around the NASCAR tracks in a race car - put them back to work in their real jobs - riding arouond Iraq and Afghanistan in a tank! We are paying each of them close to $200K per year with all their entitlements. It is way over due to start looking hard at the Pentagon gravy train. Cut NASCAR now please!
