Rumors are #1 busch taem wants sterling for abuot 18 races for 2008. he filled in for jj yelley 2 weeks ago and posted a 15 place finish. the #1 taem is owned by james finch racing, he owns the #1 and #7 busch taem. i believe sterling stil has the talent to win, so maybe we will se him next season in the #1 busch team. James finch also owns the #09 cup car that sterling tried to qualify at talladega this weekend so maybe it will all work out. Has any one else heard any other solid news on sterling for 08 season.

Sterling's running a 300 miler in Tennessee this weekend, along with his son Steadman in late model cars. Sounds like he's having some fun for a change. Read about his plans for next year at http://www.tennessean.com/apps/pbcs.dll/artic...
He says he's hoping to hook up with Finch to run 15 Busch races next year. He says the qualifying in the Nextel races is so screwed up he really doesn't see it as an option. It's good to see that he's finding out there's some fun to be had away from the idiotic monopoly of Cup racing. I hope he has a blast running on short tracks with his kid. Good for him! |

I dont even watch Nextel Cup anymore since Sterlinhs departure.I never watched it in the first place until I was aproached in a bar and asked if I wanted to pitch in a $20 and pick a # from a hat for the Daytona 500.I said I dont like that redneck stuff.Well i diid it anyway.long story short I come back to the bar a few weeks later. The bar tender said hey are U Mark.E I was handed a envelope full of 20.s aparently Sterling won.I was a fan every since. Now I will go back to football.Cus racing is dull and boring without Sterling I just cant connect

Sterling is a last glimpse of a driver who got into it when a one-car team might not win a lot of races but they could still make the field and have a lot of fun racing. Nascar allowing multi-car teams to dominate the sport will eventually lead to it being about as popular as hockey. Even someone like Tony Stewart found out that he better watch his mouth or it'll cost him. See how fast he started singing the company tune after they spanked him when he said it was like wrestling? You can mark that down as the last day anyone ever dropped an honest opinion from with the sport. It's also like golf, since the 35th place driver still pockets over a million a year - why worry about winning when you're paid well to be an also-ran? These guys aren't going to rock the boat with all that money out there for the taking.
