Racing may be over with at the Fairgrounds Speedway in Nashville. The season closing All-American 400 has been canceled, and no one knows if another race will ever take place there again.

Soon, all that has made Nashville a unique town will give way to a bland city without distinction. Out of towners with no concept of what makes Nashville significant are tearing down our history. Someone needs to tell the mayor and his friends that while he enjoys his wine and symphony, there are still some of us who enjoy a beer and a fast car. If you do not like loud cars, then return the track to its original dirt horse track and get the legislature to get on board. Just no office park or condos.
