you were right, they went with McCumbee, but I hear marlin has a ride for bristol in the #78 car<quoted text>
It's a nice thought, but i know Sterlin is still working out his mess with Ginn, so i'd be suprised, but i'd love to see it. But if they did need a replacement and they couldnt get Sterlin for some odd reason, i could see them goin with Chad McCumbee, but last i heard, Kyle was still goin to be in the car.

Leading a parade of more than 200 motorcycles for a week can put a person out of touch with racing, and that was the case for NASCAR Nextel Cup driver Kyle Petty on Friday. via USA Today

I would like everyone at nascar to know that Joe Nemechek fans on
joenemechek.net have approved a new idea from Joe Nemechek and the 08
team. Joe fans are now currently able to donate money to sponsor the
car. The car will have a paint scheme for the Joe fans. Please visit
JoeNemechek.net for more details where Alan Duke from the 08 team is
organizing this great event. Please help and spread the news!!!

After Gordon, Stewart, and Earnhardt, there really aren't many marketable drivers in NASCAR. They're interchangeable parts, especially with NASCAR cracking on anyone who says or does anything that might indicate the driver actually has a personality. Just because a driver might have some loyal fans doesn't mean the other TV viewers who see the guy in an ad are going to buy product or think more positively about the brand just because some NASCAR driver is pitching stuff. I mean, really, do you think the average person could pick any of the other drivers out of a lineup? I doubt it. So who cares if Sterling is a product pitch man? If he can get your car in the top 10 regularly, the announcers will be saying the sponsor's name repeatedly, which is where the marketing really pays off. No one interviews the driver of the 30th place car, unless he's Dale or Tony or Jeff and he had a wreck. Sterling hasn't been the same driver since he broke his neck. He should get with a Busch team and run part time like Mark Martin, then head on down the road to enjoy life.

I don't think I've ever quite read such a negative thread. Whatever happened to just being a driver's fan???1686
