have 2 dates spread apart and i think darlington thrives and so does the new track in myrtle. we were in darlington..it was a blast.seperate the dates far enough and it will be great for sc. florida has 2 diff tracks and it works fine. does anyone know where in myrtle they are talking about?
Until they do something about the traffic in and out of Myrtle Beach, it is ludicrous to even talk about doing something like this. Could you imagine having all those NASCAR fans in town for a race and then having to evacuate for a hurricane?

Shut down the Darlington race, and open up a track in Horry County. I've been saying this for years. There is absolutely nothing to do in Darlington (I lived there for 3 years). That is why the race track is dying a slow death.
Those opposed to such a plan might find this state without any NASCAR race in the near future.
I love Darlington and they have sold out every year. How can anybody want that track to go. It has the best racing on the circut. You are crazy.

My first trip to Myrtle Beach was when I was 5 years old . There was still dunes and pretty cottages along the beach. Sixty two years later I try to avoid Myrtle Beach as much as possible.
The last thing needed at Myrtle Beach is a NASCAR track. Darlington was there at the beginning of NASCAR let's have more races at Darlington, it isn't all that far from Myrle Beach and Darlington merchants are more appreciative of customers than those at Myrtle Beach.
Of course with the problems facing the state and the country you would think our Lt. Governor would have more important items on his agenda than an energy wasting polluting sport such as auto racing.

What an idiot. Put another speedway into an already crowded market. Darlington is barely getting by these days. There is not enough population in the Myrtle Beach metro area to support a track; and there are surely not enough roads for the fans to get there. Bauer is a fool! So follow the money; who is Bauer greasing to finance his next campaign.

Sounds like another SOCIAL LIBERAL. I didn't read anything about State money being used. I believe he is talking about PRIVATE investments.
I guess you are for the taking from those that have, and dumping it into lthe laps of those don't. What do you have in your pocket???
If you think NOT a red cent will not come from the State, dream on. It's ok that you're a racing fan, but don't try to convince me (and hopefully others) that the State will not put money into this useless project.
