What convinced you? At one time your opinion was that he needed time in the Nationwide series but now you think he’ll do just fine going right to Cup. In the last two to three weeks what have you witnessed that changed your mind?

I think he will do as well as some of the regulars that never get pass 25 laps. They enter junky cars and just take up space knowing they will be out by the first pit stop.

So NASCAR must be struggling a bit since a good percentage of the field is not competitive. I would imagine a lot of this is due to lack of sponsorship to run a decent team.
Too bad Speed is going to NASCAR. Another wasted talent going to the dark side.

Truth of the matter is, Scott Speed has been driving Nascar's old Cup cars for a full season now and testing the COT on a regular basis. He'll do as well as any of the other open wheelers that have come over, better than some. He's use to the weigh of the car by now and probably already understands a lot of what it takes to make the car handle. Jumping to 400 and 500 mile races will be trying physically until he get use to it.
