Nascar chewed them up and spit them out. Such a shame.

Actually, no, the fact is that this is the time that we will find that the glass slipper might not fit, after all. Jeremy has done a good job in the first two races, just to qualify, however, he was less than any type of a factor in either race. Now the circuit is coming to tracks where the lack of time on track will show, this will define who will be the real week in, week out teams on the track and those who will be on the trailer. Jeremy, by missing this race is now under more pressure than even at Daytona for the next two races in order to attempt to get into or close to the top 35.

Junie Donleavy once told me the difference in small sponsorships and racing sponsorships, the small ones give you just enough money to get you into trouble.

Good luck to Jeremy, however, I think he will need that and much more to be a factor after the eighth or tenth race. I have been wrong before and for Jeremy's sake, I hope I am wrong now.

To the people who placed the spam and red X on my last post, so be it, HOWEVER, I have failed to see you post anywhere that I was wrong. I made the statement about NASCAR leaving the draft the pack type of racing of Daytona and coming to the real racetracks on the circuit. I also stated that these tracks would show how really strong or weak Jeremy's car and team was, NOW, where was I wrong?

Jeremy qualified for the Daytona 500 and at the request of some of the Mayfield fans, I did acknowledge the fact and offer good luck, Even Though I again stated he was not one of my favorite drivers, now, where are the Mayfield fans, it seems that Mayfield threads have been very quiet for the past week or so.

In closing I will ask all of you to remember Don Meridith of Dallas Cowboy Fame and later as one of the original three broadcasters of Monday Night Football, do you remember his favorite song at the end of many games. I think this song could be appropriate for the Mayfield Team.

Turn out the lights, The party is over.

Unfortunately as a long time Mayfield fan I have to agree. What is the point of even getting a sponsor when UNSPONSORED teams simply out run you.He should of had the advantage with money coming in and nothing.Even though the team is new so are the other go or go homers and to run basically last every week shows there is no improvement, when Nemechek is running good with no sponsor. I have been a Mayfield fan since he started but I have to choose to support someone else because it is no fun to watch a race when your driver isnt in it. I still hope he makes it but they dont even show signs of improvement.I wish you all the luck Jeremy I hope you can turn things around

It comes down to money and experience. Jeremy's team probably doesn't have much of either. The equipment came from Bill Davis which wasn't that great to begin with. Jeremy gave it a shot and if they can continue they might get the experience to qualify near the bottom. I still think that was a cool thing to try and pull off - although it doesn't look too good right now. By racing his way into Daytona it showed me that he can drive. For me it isn't an I'm right thing I am just rooting for an underdog that seems to be a good person. This was what i liked about nascar when i started watching back in the 70's. Now it's so commercialized with so many phonies it kind of sucks.
