Rob, if you can't spell the man's name, don't be stupid enough to try to throw his team under the bus. Hendrick Motorsports does rule the Cup series right now. First through third in points and going to win a fourth consecutive championship, I would say they pretty much rule the series. Hamlin is a whiny, jealous punk that is pissed because he knows he doesn't have any clout with anyone.

Just out of curiosity, what team could you be pulling for that hasn't been caught doing something to their cars? They all try everything they can to get an advantage. If you think you're pulling for someone who doesn't, you're even more stupid than your writing makes you appear to be.

You can see that too? He's still wet behind the ears in NASCAR. He went into the chase after a win, saying "Watch this team these guys are on fire" and then failed. Now he gets a few great finishes and again he's jinxing himself, this time saying "Watch this team next season - this team is strong..."

Hamlin has 5 wins. Jeff's had the most wins in a season 5 times. Hamlin is barely finishing his 4th season. Jeff's had a championship in 4 seasons. How can Hamlin be so arrogant to think he should have equal say to somebody who's been around a decade longer?

"But, also, you need to look at the guys that are going to be in the sport for the next 10 to 15 years and maybe their opinion should also be just as important." < Idiot. When you've been around for 10-15 years THEN you'll have a valid opinion. Until then, your opinions are insignificant. lol

Why don't you just provide us the stats you think are impressive and we'll consider if they're that good or not.

no politics on Denny's thread either.. especially Denny's since he is a REAL racer, racing for Gibbs who lets all his guys be competitors and not pieces of a strategizing machine..

For ages, it was common sense and a driver's code of respect to NOT push in the corners, and now just because the bumpers line up, the racers will try to take it to the next level and push all the way around the track. They're willing to risk anything to get ahead of competitors no matter what the cost.

The thing is, it's not always 2 cars. 3 cars can get the job done much better. You get 3 lined up and you can get a really strong train started. And then if you can get 4, which is nearly impossible to keep stuck end to end for very long, you can basically leave the pack. The only way to keep up with a 3 or 4 car push train is to also be in a train, cuzz if you shuffle around 2 and 3 wide, they'll leave. We've seen it.

Fun stuff, until you consider that with all the pushing, it's virtually the same thing as building up pressure behind a valve. When something goes wrong, you cant even think about slowing the pack down cuzz the whole field will be trying to line up and push. Actually a less than 0.0s reaction time!

So yeah, basically take an almost non-existent time to react to something ahead, and make it worse by having cars pushing each other to reduce that time further while increasing stopping distance.

Face it, Folks. Plate racing is the most exciting races of the year. The cars stay bunched up in tight lines and almost every car stays on the lead lap because of the draft. You're sitting on the edge of your seat waiting for the "{big one". If by chance, they don't have the big one, all you do for the next couple of months is piss and moan about how boring it was. Bullsh*t!!! I haven't seen anything boring or routine about plate racing since it started by in the eighties. Boring to me in some place like Michigan with the everyone stretched out three seconds apart and half the field down a lap or more. There's nothing boring about a race that has 60 lead changes. Plate races are the best chance the little man has of winning big. Ask Brad K.
