When It Comes Down To It, Nobody Has Filled Earnhardt's Shoes

Kevin Harvick, who stepped into his seat at Richard Childress Racing the week after the seven-time champion died in a crash during the 2001 Daytona 500, says no one has been able to replace Earnhardt as a voice ... Full Story

man your all wrong penske racing is going to be the new king. With the two teamates Kurt Busch and Ryan Newman tearing up the feild and working together like they were in Daytona to be in the front, i think a lot of these teams should be worried about these next few races. team Penske is on a quick rise and will soon be on the top.
HMMM, I THINK MAYBE, NO IT COULDN'T BE. BUT I REALLY THINK IT IS, UKNOW FROM RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CA. BOY, I BET YOU FEEL REALLY, REALLY FEEL STUPID OVER THIS PREDICTION. YOU REALLY SHOULD SPEAK WITH THEM AND REMIND THEM THAT ONLY THE TOP 25 DRIVERS GET INVITED TO THE AWARDS BANQUET. I MADE A FUNNY, GET IT?

Dale Earnhardt, until he was killed in Daytona, was one of the dirtiest drivers the sport has ever seen. I know the truth hurts, and I know some of you will whine about what I'm saying, but it's the truth. He routinely spun other drivers out of his way. That's bad enough on the short tracks, but on a super speedway he could have killed someone. I hate that he's dead. I wish he were alive and still racing. He pi$$ed me off with his reckless and stupid bs on any number of occasions, but I miss seeing him race. What angers me so much about him is that he was too good a driver to have to resort to those tactics, but he did it anyway. If I had his driving talent, I sure wouldn't have wrecked other drivers and endangered them on purpose. Fae and away the best NASCAR driver of all time (to date) was Richard Petty, NOT Dale Earnhardt. Dale was a world class race driver, but Petty was and is the King. Kurt Bush and the rest of these new crybabies aren't worthy of washing Petty's jockstrap. Kitt form Tulsa OK, YOU'RE the idiot, you idiot. Get a clue, dumba$$.
MY FRIEND, YOUR POST IS THE MOST TRUTHFUL AND ACCURATE I'VE EVER READ ON ANY OF THESE FORUMS. I STARTED FOLLOWING RICHARD IN THE EARLY SIXTIES AND HE WAS MY MAN RIGHT UP TO THE DAY HE RETIRED. NASCAR HAS NEVER HAD A BETTER SPOKESMAN OR ROLE MODEL. BILL FRANCE STARTED IT, RICHARD PETTY MADE IT AND DALE CARRIED IT ON.

Hey, from one Chad to another Chad, thanks for that comment. These Gordo fans should remember or know that Dale, unfortunately, told Gordo everything he knows, and Gordo will NEVER have the following DALE had and has.

I am a huge Dale Earnhard SR fan and a huge Richard Petty fan. Yes Dale Sr was dirty when he came to do stuff....but the thing is both those drivers have the repect from other drivers. There are not going to be anyone like Richard Petty or Dale Sr. They helped many of the drivers today. Even in the CMT special they stated Dale would move you out of the way if he had to get the win. It didnt matter to Dale if he got booed or not.

But Richard Petty and Dale Earnhardt SR there are not going to be drivers like them ever. We might have some that come close in the future but right now...my opinion those are the two best. I know that opinion is going to get me in trouble but oh well. They will always be my favorite drivers.

There will never be another Dale Sr. The only person at all on the circuit that may come close to being the man he was and the driver he was without the championships will be Dale Jr. Dale Jr. has really stepped up to the plate and has the respect of all the drivers in the sport. All of Dale Sr.'s children prior to Teresa are involved in Nascar and all trying to live the legacy. Dale Jr. is truly a Jr. There will not ever be another Dale Sr. no matter who comes along, and Richard Petty will never be what Dale Sr. was either. The Petty family had money, Earnhardt did not. No matter what Petty did he will never be the true King that Dale Earnhardt Sr. was.

Only a typical dumb redneck Jr. fan would think that. Jr. will never be his dad, first of all Jr. gives up too quick, dosen't speak his mind and wouldn't spin some one out too win and that was what his dad was all about. He was a dick when he didn't win and bashed Nascar till the day he died and that is why fans and drivers have respect from Dale, your were not sure what he was going too say or do next, but you knew whatever he did, it was 100% Dale Earnhardt. It's kind of funny because you said Kevin Harvick isn't the next Dale Earnhardt, but just read what I said in this statment and sounds like good old Happy too me. Harvick and Sr. are one in the same, no matter if you like it or not.

We all have our favorite drivers that we will always like no matter what. I spent more sunday afternoons with Sr. then I did my husband. Lets all agree that some mean more than others. I would never presume to say that Petty was not a great driver, he certianly was. I do not appreciate your calling anyone an idiot because we do not agree with you. Could we agree to disagree and not call people names?
