Following up on the NASCAR "banishment" possiblilty for R. Gordon. A few drivers have had to sit out a race. Kurt Bush was taken out of his car with Rouch right before he went to Penski. You mentioned Harvick, too. But, to be "banished" completely from racing ? Has that ever happened ? to anybody ?

I can recall it happening for drugs, but even then there is some recourse: you can "apply" again after you go thru rehab, for example. Then you have to have someone to vouch for you.

I don't recall anyone being "banished" from racing completely. This is the first time it has been spelled out in black and white. The only thing I can think of is the way the drug offenders get around this. Not necessarily rehab, but take some time off and get someone to vouch for him who is respected by Nascar. They are definitely playing it by ear here. And there is nobody better to call them on it than Robby.

It isn't like he doesn't race in other races that aren't regulated by Nascar. If there's a race, he's in it. And I'll bet, he will be on his best behavior from now on.
