I used to be a nascar fan but sense they let the toyota race in the good ole boy sport, I really don't care what happens any more in nascar. I will not watch or listen to another race as long as toyota is involved, and I know more than a few people that feel the way I do.

Get a life!

I can only assume you make such a comment out of some sort of nationalistic pride. If that is the case, you should have stopped watching years ago. 60 odd % of the big threes parts are made somewhere other than the good ole USofA and have been for years BTW Toyota manufactures parts and assembles many of their US market cars in the lower 48

I've had the pleasure of working directly with the Toyota Motorsports team based out of Los Angeles and those guys (Tom, Marty and Bob) were true blue Americans, period.

I'm not so sure the Toyota is that bad, maybe it's the poor quality drivers they have. You can differ, but what was their records for last year. Waltrip may be an owner, but he's not a great driver. Just my opinion.

"Who Cares" is right. When the Indianapolis 500 was taken over by foriegn drivers that was enough for me, and for that matter alot of other open wheel racing fans and then was on the down side of interesting from that point on for a lot of American Racing Fans.
If Americans want to watch foriegn drivers all they need do is go to Europe. Old fashioned? No! I want the AMERICAN DOLLAR to STAY in AMERICA.
And as far as foriegn investsment's in America are concerned,I want to purcahse Automobiles, MANUFACTURED, and not just ASSEMBLED here in the UNITED STATES by the BEST WORKERS in the WORLD "THE AMERICAN WORK FORCE" and its not the UNION's as you UNION HATER's are inclined to say either, its the PISS POOR MANAGEMENT these corporations have hired in the last 20 years.
Be AMERICAN, BUY AMERICAN, SUPPORT the AMERICAN DOLLAR, and keep it HERE in AMERICA.

Do you really think the Average American gives a hoot about where the parts are made? The money goes back to Japan and the big 3 suffer. It's called loyalty, not monkey see, monkey do mentality of a lot of people who have to keep up with the Jones's.

It never ceases to amaze me how "writers" of sports reports continue to do miserable, incomplete jobs at reporting the events like the Daytona 500 qualifying on Sunday. David Gilliland and Yates' Racing teammates made spectacular runs earning the front row for the 2007 Daytona 500,but NO WHERE in the whole report did Ballard mention what brand of car they were driving-the only small mention was a quote by Yates crewchief. But in the same report Ballard mentions Toyota numerous times even thought Toyota's poor effort was not worth mentioning especially compared to the FAST FORDS of the YATES RACING team. We all there's "MENTION MONEY" and other "PERKS" given those who are supposed to be reporting to readers and fans UNBIASED FACTS regarding racing events,so let's put the unequal, biased, and selectively embelished and omitted personal influence aside and accurately report what all teams and manufacturers achieved. Don't let the BIG MONEY and Public Relations Spinners influence the truth and facts-REPORT what happened-example: Yates Racing Duo Capture Daytona 500 Front Row in their FAST FORDS or FORDS BLOW AWAY TOYOTAS to CAPTURE DAYTONA 500 Poles. Just tell it like it happened for ALL BRANDS OF CARS IN AN EQUAL MANNER-simple enough? Thanks

Ya know what...All of you Nascar bandwagon jumper fans loved Waltrip when he was pushing Dale Jr. around the plate tracks when they were teammates did'nt you. Now he is no damn good because he drives a Toyota. I seem to recall lots and lots of Jarrett fans at the track when he was raceing for his championship too. There are very few dihard fans left out there. Thats too bad. You people must spend a lot of money updating your favorite driver wardrobe!!!

The sad thing is that Nascar is right on the money with thier thinking of how the "new breed of nascar fan" thinks. Everyone hates Waltrip and Jarrett now. They all loved them a few years ago when Jarrett was running for AND WINNING his title, and when Waltrip was Jr's teammate and he was pushing him to win after win at these plate tracks. Fans are nothing more than bandwagon jumpers pulling for all the young prettyboy punks that nascar now refers to as drivers. They forced and are still forcing all the real racers out of the sport because they arnt pretty to look at or dont speak as well on camera as nascar would like. Wake up people. Look at what is happening to our sport.

I am happy to see toyota struggle. I hope they struggle to the wreck yard in Nascar. I am so ashamed of drivers like the Waltrips and Jarett who made their way on the rides of American cars. Shame on them for bein easily bought out by Japan. The argument can be made toyota's are made by American's. That is true. However, they have less American workers working for them than Ford laid off last year. American's seem to focus on toyota's made here and forget they are from Japan. I cannot stand the fact they were allowed to buy their way into our American sport..Just one more indication of American stupidity..and in Nascar..we have the Waltrips, Jarett, Mayfield, Vickers and a few others leading the way. They should have cars painted in white with a red ball..and Japan tatooed on their forheads..

Personnally, I think the Toyotas did better than I thought they would. Regardly of who is driving, bringing a new model of car to the track and being competitive is tough enough but to bring a totally new brand is even harder. Without bashing drivers I will say I don't think Toyota has the cream of the crop when it comes to drivers. That may have played a big part yesterday in none of Toyotas doing any better but it was far from the only reason.

Acutally..I never like Mikey-poo, not even when he was at DEI. I felt his was whiner and compensated his lack of talent for his very qualified ability to yap..yap..yap..I did have respect for Jarett(and others) UNTIL..they went to show their loyalties with Japan..(and we get upset when American's are caught selling secrets to other countries)..I do NOT jump drivers, I have been an Earhardt fan for a VERY long time..and until the day I see Dale Jr stab America in the heart like the Waltrip's have done..I will support him. I live in Michigan..where our backs are being broken due to countries like JAPAN and MEXICO..I have no loyalty to those countries..nor anyone from those countries..nor anyone from this country who supports loyalty to them..and THAT includes..Waltrip's AND Jarrett..and all that is connected with them...

It's all "Jackass" Jack Roush's fault. He don't want Toyota to start and he's buying NASCAR to shame them on their first outing. Roush racing should be eliminated and and so as FORD.

Nascar fans are in-bred trailer trash. The unions killed the 'big 3' U.S.A. automobile companies. btw I sell hondas for a living and make a lot of $ doing it. Have a nice day!
