Stewart ready for '07 to end

The season is not to long. I work all year long?? I don't get a couple of months off to go to some island and relax. Come on people, these drivers make big $$ and they complain? I have always heard this anywhere I work, go ahead and complain, there are lots of people out there just waiting for your job". And as mean as it sounds, they are out there. Just because you know how to drive a race car, there are a bunch of people that also drive pretty good. No, I don't feel sorry for them at all, quit complaining like a baby is what I say. They all knew what they were getting into when they signed up. Most of us are happy to get a week off for the year, nope don't feel sorry at all. And by the way, the guy that posted in here about Tony not signing the 2 hats for his children, that is typical of a lot of these drivers. I think it would be funny if they don't feel at that time to sign anything, maybe they are tired, trying to work etc. Just wait till their career is over, easy to get those guys to sign anything!! No long lines, etc. I love stock car racing, but Nascar has changed into something I don't like anymore. Bring back the real stock cars and drive it like you stole it, then the tv ratings would go back up and the seats would sell like crazy! I am a Jeff Gordon fan, but I sure do miss Dale, I often wonder would all these changes have been made if he were still alive? They may have, but then he sure would have let it be known that he did not like it! Lots of spunk missing in Nascar! Even Tony is getting tame.

Savannah, I agree with you that most all of us that work for a living do not get many breaks. I also agree that these guys are well paid for what they do. I just think we would get a better product if the season were a little shorter. I have said the same thing on here before about Dale and how things might be if he were still here. He had alot of influence with the drivers and Nascar itself. Bill France JR and him were good friends and He listened to Dale. The drivers also listened to him and they might have had some say in all of this had he not been taken at such a young age. The problem is these guys make so much money they will not rock the boat and voice their opinions and Nascar lets them know about it when thay do. Dale would have spoken out and dared the big boys in Nascar to call him in on it. I sure miss him too. I think back occasionally to that day and how I and the rest of the world reacted and it still amazes me to this day. To alot of us it was like losing a family mamber. One thing I do know in my own heart is that Dale JR would not be leaving DEI and going to Hendrick If he were still here and That Organization would not be struggling the way it is. He was too proud and too competitive for that to happen. I laugh when people say Teresa is doing such a great job running DEI. She is just too proud and stubborn in my eyes to allow those kids of Dales to help run that company and now it is too late. I think someday she will regret her decisions she has made regarding Dale JR and Kerry and Kelly and how she did not allow them to help her run that company as a FAMILY business. They at least deserved to have some say and she should have allowed them to. She could still be the boss and llow them to help her and I feel they would have accepted that. A few years back there was talk about spliting the drivers up. Kind of like the AFC and the NFC. It was meant to make it easier on the drivers and allow more drivers to race. It also would have given more tracks a shot at a Race. At the end of the series they would have something like a playoff or a chase series like they have now. It seem to have died as fast as it was discussed.
