Wow I watched Dave Despains last show. It was great to hear he is turning his desk and mic over to Smoke. Tony will be sure to get the cheaters out in the open he isn't afraid to call a spade a spade. This is just what the sport needs some honest comentations.

I dont understand why people get so worked up over not getting an autograph? Get a life, they can't stop everytime someone wants an autograph or else they would never do anything but sign. they have appearances all year long and even though it seems like a trivial thing and part of what they do they are still human. Yes, the fans make them what they are...but they dont owe their lives to us because we still make the choice.

If Tony is a jerk it's because of the way he preaches to be safe and smart and then does the exact opposite on the track.Thats always been my issue with him. Plus he has self proclaimed that he is the replacement for Dale Earnhardt which is a arrogant jerk thing to do. It never fails though that he wants someone to let him pass but when they dont (This is called racing) he says they cant drive and are no-talents. Someone like Kensth would understand that it's early and not time to race...the last time I checked it starts at the green flag and goes the scheduled distance until the checkered flag flies. Tony needs to understand that concept.

That's my issue, not autograph's...thats a non-issue. As far as I'm concerned anyway.

Keep being ignorant, but if this is someone that you would wish your children to look up to - then you are probably a Michael Vick fans also. When you have gone to four races and had pit passes and ask TS for an autograph on his two championship hats (already signed by Zippy and Gibbs)- and he says he is busy and walks away, then you are shameful. Tony "Crybaby" Stewart is a fat, spoiled, and rude individual that shows NO CLASS. His own self-destructive demeanor will destroy him in the end.
Just like when HE wrecked the car last night - he blames it on the pit crew. WHAT A LOSER
Oh geezzz!! I am sorry Tony Stewart didn't give you an autograph...Get over it! If you are so worried about his self-destructive demeanor, stay away from him. That way you wont 'blow up' along with him. Why would such a classy person as yourself (chuckle!) go after Smoke's autograph anyway?!

It was all made up I hate the hendricks jerks I mean fans coming into the coffee house stirring up sh$t! You Know!
One would think with the golden kids on thier team they would ave so much to talk about it wouldn't have anything to do with Tony.
I guess I think that because I have never even thought about bashing Jimmie or Jeff on a Hendricks started topix.
no matter how you slice it they cme up a head of everybody else. More power to them for that. Now don't let the door slam on thier head as they leave the building!!!!!!!!!

Stewart is the biggest crybaby out there. He always blames others when he doesn't get his way. Sort of like John Daly - all the talent in the world and it is truly wasted. His ego is far too big for him to accomplish anything besides complaining that other drivers cannot race. Please Stewart fans - do not try to cover his big head with crap. He is a whiner that is destroying that 20 race team.

I think the same thing that makes him go off also makes him the great driver he is today. You have to take the good with the bad, he is who he is. I guess his whining is personally affecting you? I think not but the solution is to go watch your boring driver instead or is he the one who can't get around big bad Tony?

OK, now back to the topic. Is 36 races too many? It seems that after a season that starts in February and ends in November these guys are totally burned out and ready to get the hell away from it all. Thirty six races plus sponsor obligations plus public appearances plus testing and then add on the fact that many have to worry about the next year's sponsorship and contract issues and even switching teams like some are just seems be too much! I think even some fans get burned out. It is the longest season in professional sports and I feel it is too long. There are only 87 days until Daytona so there are not going to be too many days off before these guys have to go back to work. I read where Dale Jr for instance already has a photo shoot next week with Adidas so there is basically another few days of work. Shorten the season to about 30 races and and then each one would be more important and these guys would not get so burned out. When Tony hit the wall the other day he sounded like he just wanted to get the hell out of that car and go home and I don't blame him. Same with Dale Jr and him trying to finish out the year as a lame duck driver. He wanted it to end. I would imagine if you asked these guys to really tell the truth they would love to shorten the season some! I realize this will not happen because there is too much monet involved but if it were up to the drivers I think it woiuld. Hell, The travel alone will wear a person out because I do it going back and forth to work driving 7 hours but I don't do it that often. These guys do it constantly!

You are right TB Chief.

Tony already had a photo shoot with his new sponsors in his new car and fire suit. And there are always the Home Depot signings.

Then off to Indiana for his yearly in-door midget racing.(Of course I think that's probably his own choice)

Early in the year they don't seem to mind all of the signings and commercials and charity events. But it doesn't take them too long to get sick and tired of the whole deal.

Lots of folks say they are just a bunch of whiners, but I disagree. They put in a lot of hours and are shipped all around the country and they can't say no to these obligations. I'd rather have my job....

He may or may not be a cry baby, but I don't see how he's "destroying that 20 race team." Even with his problems in the chase he finished the year in 6th place in points, 5th in money earned and 3rd in wins and top 10 finishes. If that's ruining the team then I think most owners would love to have their teams ruined.

I agree the season does seem to drag on, but that's true of most sports. I'd hate to see less racing than we have already though. 36 races doesn't seem like too many. In any case, I don't think Nascar would be interested in elliminating race dates. There's too much money at stake for that to happen.

Uh Yeah John, I believe I said exactly what you did about the money at stake and Nascar not shortening the season for that reason. You said 36 races doen't seem like too many to you, I was taking the drivers and their lives into consideration. It is easy for you to say that, what about them and their lives? Like I said it is the longest season in professional sports and it is different in the fact that drivers have alot more obligations than other athletes just due the Sponsors alone. Other athletes choose to do commercials, drivers are obligated to or they don't get the money the team needs to build cars therefore they don't race. I am just saying that with off dates and preseason work you are basically talking about 40-45 weeks of nothing but travel and races and other obligations and by late in the season these guys are totally spent. I for one think it is too long of a season.

You misunderstand what I meant. I agree that the length of time the season takes is too long. I'm saying that 36 races doesn't seem like too many to me. The fact is that many of the drivers race more than once a week anyway, so why not have more than one cup race in a week. That might even get the cup drivers out of the Busch series. Most major sports don't space their games a week or more apart.

As far as the drivers getting worn out and needing to travel so much. I have a hard time feeling sorry for guys that make millions having to actually work to earn it. I spent a lot of years as a consultant traveling most weeks with no break and I made a lot less than the cup drivers. And I didn't get a private jet to take me from one place to another. I'm sure that if the drivers really have a problem with their schedule they can find jobs that have fewer demands on them.

I think they should do Busch or Nextel or Truck! Not all that would cut Tonys races down so that was choice he made to begin with. They don't have to race all those races! They can quit Nascar anytime, the thing is if no one wanted them to do appearances and they fade away what then? I'm sure when they were nobodies this was their dream so it's all a choice. I'm not argueing with anyone here but it can't be that damn bad! If Tony didn't come to the local home depot for an appearance I'd have to go see him race in a midget on off season or something it's the way it goes. I'm sure he gets paid very well!
In fact after reading his book if I saw Tony out at a local Colombus restaurant I wouldn't bug him for an autograph but I'd be the only one who wouldn't that's for sure ! Just my opinion not agreeing or disagreeing with anyone.
