Dale Earnhardt Jr Could Break and Tie Two Records At Talladega

Dale Earnhardt Jr. needs to lead 127-laps Sunday in the Aarons 499 at Talladega Superspeedway to break the Laps Led record for Active Drivers, and a trip to victory lane would tie the Active Driver Wins record.

Amazing, Dale Jr hasn't done anything even worth mentioning in the past 5 seasons and now they think he's going to "break and tie records" in the next race. This article is "Fantasy NASCAR" at it's best.

It's more likely he'll break his own record of "100 Sprint cup races in a row that Dale Earnhardt hasn't won", and make it 101!

haha! bunch of haters. he's been racing in the Cup Series for 11 years, has recorded 18 wins, including a Daytona 500, 4 straight victories at Dega, and numerous other accomplishments, and just because he's been in a 4 year rutt, suddenly he's a terrible driver? that goes to show who the real racing fans are and who the johnny-come-latelies are.

So Harvick can have a 115 race winless draught and can become a championship contender but Junior is washed up and won't ever win again unless NASCAR helps him? Hmmmm, and last I checked Junior still has more wins then Harvick. Yet another stunning example of how the haters twist facts to justify their Junior bashing.

Good analogy. The difference is that in Golf, a golfers performance is the basis used to be able to play, or continue to play on the tour; in NASCAR if you have connections or can gather sponsor money, you're got a place in the big show for as long as want.

How long has it been since Martin Truex won a race? McMurray did not waste any time when he took over the Truex car. He did really well last year.Why don't anyone mention Truex and how many race's he had run without a win.....

The media covers him because the HUGE fan base wants to hear what Jr has to say.. yes, there are 42 other drivers out there but Robbie Gordon or some other lesser known isnt going to drive the ratings and thats what the networks want.. So while Jr continues to race and has his loyal fan base the networks and media will continue to cover him.. Its all about the money...

As long as the current aero package is in force, your never going to see domininant cars/drivers at daytona or dega. Both races are a crapshoot requiring more luck than skill.
