Even though it's the same old 188 laps, the name is: Aaron's 499. Without plates, it would still be the world's fastest closed course: Talladega Superspeedway.

Did you watch the video? They are CLEARLY driving around the #5 with left side tires CLEARLY below the yellow line!#48 went from 7th to 1st with his left side tires below the yellow line! THATS ADVANCEMENT IN MY BOOK!

Well I just fast forward the race to the finish .They showed it in slow motion & aerial & the 48 did not advance his position . And for the record I wanted Dave Blaney to win .BUT it wasn't to be.

There was a huge debate on twitter with haters, reporters, and writers trying their damnedest to stand their ground with the video and still shots from straight ahead. Most were hoping it was something they could write about.

When the dust cleared, there was a lot of people who probably feel stupid for not knowing the definition of 'below'. One example: If Mexico told Canadians not to go below USA, does that mean they can't visit USA?

One thing I notices is one line on the banking and the other down on the apron. Why do you think that is? Maybe so the driver can feel when they're right near the edge?

I say you can drive ON the line because ON is not BELOW. I believe it was mentioned that you can drive ON the line before the NNS race started. Can you be both ON and BELOW something??

Thanks for the pic . Even in the video it looked like his tire was riding on the line not below it but I could not really tell if it was. Handle Yankeefan1969

So >YOUR< interpretation of the "yellow line rule" is that as long as some part of the car is still "on the line" its all good?

Fair enough... Because the argument is not whether or not #48 left tires straddled the yellow line, they clearly did, its that NA$CAR has called a "yellow line violation" for less of an infraction on other drivers. There is no consistancy, and way too much gray area. NA$CAR should just run the road course at both daytona and Dega.
