He was pushed below the line by Tony. The only reason he didn't wreck him, and he should have, was he was being nice. Tony would have taken him out....

He was being nice? LOL Are you serious? You're talking about a rookie who had a shot at his first cup win and all he had to do was pass 2-time champ Tony Stewart.
He wasn't being nice - he said himself he thought on the last lap anything goes.
He might win rookie of the year anyway, because competition is slim this season, but he really know the rules first - or at least pay attention in driver's meetings.

Let's get real. Why bother discussing this? Had 2/3 of the field not been wrecked, he'd have been back in the back 20, where he usually is. Smith broke the rules. It was a dumb rookie mistake to put himself in that position. Yes, Tony didn't give him wiggle room, but NASCAR would rather he back off and take 2nd and have their drivers safe. Why is this such a big deal? mith was mentored by Mark Martin, did you see martin go below the line racing Harvick to the finish at Daytona last year? Nope. Smith knew what he was doing, and as he had nothing to lose, went on the hope that he could get away with it.
