They need the equivalent of a Mark Martin or Jeff Burton to keep them straight and remind them what teamwork is. I love Elliott, but he is no leader.
I agree with you. I have nothing against Sadler, he is a good guy & I do beleive that he & Kahne are friends, good friends. Watching Talladega last fall and in 07, I was amazed to see him dump Kahne over & over again. You cannot run these races without help and stay up front, he needs to remember to help his team. Even when Patrick was there he & Kahne would run together but Sadler always ran with his old buddies. Given the chance his old buddies dumped him as well, so it did not help him but Kahne would fall right back in behind him. I don't Sadler did this on purpose because he is not the type but if the fans saw it I am sure Gillett saw it. At Daytona last season the Dodges ran together to pull off of the win for Newman, listening to the scanner you could hear the plans of them working together. This needs to happen this season for them to succeed, Sadler needs to work with them or I'm afraid he will lose his ride. I do look for a huge improvement from Reed & AJ, they will work as a team, hope Sadler knows this for his sake.

Kasey has said over the radio before that he'd work with Elliott... then Elliott dumps him and he yells "WTH is Elliott doing?" He's said that about a few things Elliott has done

And we have a winner!!!
You said it right, right ty=here!!
If Dodge could just stick to one nose on the car, and keep testing it, I think they could at least become competitive. But if they keep changing it, how is anyone suppose to be consistent? They changed it at least once, in midseason last year. I believe the year before, they ran the same one all year.

Scene daily has an article posted today stating that they will start the season with the old engine and work into the new one. Not sure about this but Robbie Loomis is the one running the show now so we shall see how things go at Daytona. I have to say Gillett has managed to do something that might make GEM work, by assembling Evernham, Loomis, Inman & Petty under 1 roof we might have something. With Kahne, Reed & AJ willing & young they can help them improve.

Yes, this could be a formidable team - if they work together and everyone contributes their best efforts.

The overall knowledge pool will be tremendous, and all four drivers have the ability to really contribute... They just have to commit to doing it, instead of abandoning the effort when an individual opportunity pops up.

I don't mean that anyone should give up a win, but if working together can feasibly result in three or four getting improved performances, that is better than one car getting a top-5 and the others finishing five laps down.

I forgot to say...

I'm sure each driver wants to win, but if they look at it as 4 teams working together, they are setting themselves up to fail. The competition is too strong to try to run independently. It needs to be one team with 4 cars - whoever has the best chance of winning should receive the support from the other drivers, regardless of which driver it is, and this needs to be constantly reevaluated by someone tracking all 4 cars throughout the entire race.

Personally, I think it will usually be Kasey, because I think he has the best combination of talent and experience, but he doesn't always manage frustration well, so we'll see if the change with Reed and AJ will make any difference.

If the guys can keep out of wrecks, I think they'll do much better than in the past. I hope so, anyway...

I agree with that.
They were doing good, such as the year Kasey got all them wins, wasn't it just the next year that changed the nose and it's been down hill since?!

Good point about the teamwork. He needs a good crew chief too, who can work with him but stand up to him when necessary. Sometimes I think lack of direction (or guidance, or a good mentor, whatever you want to call it) is the thing that's been hindering his career more than anything, maybe even more than lack of decent equipment.

Dang, I'd forgotten about Inman. If anybody can keep those boys in line, it's him <LOL.>

No he don't deserve a ride.....I'm surprised it took this long for owners to realize he has no driving skills......Yates had a party getting rid of him in 06.....let him wreck someone elses cars.

I just love how everyone likes to assume every female who dates/marries a driver is some kind of gold digging, skank, only out for themselves that will ruin the driver's life.

Elliott's a big boy I will give him (and her) the benfit of the doubt.

That is a completely inaccurate statement. The majority, if not ALL of the ladies on here wish nothing but the best for Kate and Carl.

In the case of Amanda, people on here used to like her until she started showing her true colors. And the opinions that people on here have of her are based on having the DISpleasure of encountering her, or from the people that have met her.

So please do not stereotype all of us together.

How long have you known her? What does she order when you go to lunch? What's her parents names? How old was she when she got her first kiss? If you can't answer anything personal about her or you don't or have never had lunch then you don't get an opinion.

God i just LOVE these idiots that come onto a PUBLIC forum to voice THEIR opinions and then have the NERVE to tell me that, again, on a PUBLIC forum I can't voice mine.

NEVER once have I ever speculated that I knew her, had lunch with her (wouldnt have been able to keep my lunch down looking at that), OR that I knew her family. What i said, moron, is that the opinions on here are either based on statements of people who HAVE had experiences with her OR The people themselves who have had the complete displeasure of meeting her...

LOL! Just to point out... You don't have to know personal information about someone to dislike their behavior, regardless of who that person may be.

I can name any number of people that I have met and disliked due to their behavior at that time. I certainly couldn't answer personal questions about them, but I wouldn't want to spend that much time with them, either.
