There are 21 comments on the www.canada.com story from Apr 9, 2008, titled Duff's blog: Is batchelor boy Stewart ready to change lanes?. In it, www.canada.com reports that:

They might seem like an odd couple, but NASCAR driver Tony Stewart and Detroit rock musician Kid Rock are fast friends.

This is a must read and not because he mentions wanting to settle down, but because he mentions how Brienne's death has impacted him and the series.

Check this out, they ask him about Brienne's death in this article. You get a feel for what he's feeling.

Awww cute article. That's good he's thinking about it now he has to find the right gal to do it with! Maybe he should have a dating show where his friends approve of the girls first. I'm only kidding. Sounds like maybe he should of tried dating that Brienne.

Nice write up, and I agree the hardest working in NASCAR are the officals, truck drivers and teams. Also really glad to see this comment at the bottom. "He also foresees a long future with Joe Gibbs Racing, who have Stewart under contract through the 2009 season. "There's nothing broke there," Stewart said. "Nothing needs to be fixed. Joe's a great friend. He's the guy I go to when I need advice about my race teams. He's my team coach, I guess. He deals with 430-some employees, I deal with 15 employees."

what an excellent article..he is right, he is running really good, smart races this year. I am glad that Joe is back in racing fulltime and I am glad that Tony is happy being a part of JGR.

Debi - did you hit your head? You of "Tony is great, everybody else made him lose" fame? Come on, grow up, McCain will not save you or your mortgage (as he recently addressed ... not YOUR mortgage ... but people who CAN'T pay THEIR mortgage) Despicable - sign up to pay ... PAY DAMMIT! But How is it that after PinHead has NOT won so far in 2008 that it is NOW O.K. when 3 weeks ago it was a travesty of justice? Just curious!

ppdbump.. my president should not take care of my finances.. if I do something stupid, I need to pay for it all by myself.. the government cannot bail people out all the time.. that is the entire reason why we are in the delema we are in with the budget.. too many entitlememtns.
as for Tony, if you were a Tony fan, you would know that he has not sped on pit road this year, he has been patient and has not made any retaliatory moves.. he has alomst won 3 races... circumstances are what he has had to deal with, but for what he can control, he is having an excellent season.

spdbmp, also, I have been to Daytona for all of speed week and saw Tony win in the nationwide series and almost win in the 500.. I was at Martinsville where he worked hard all day long to get a decent finish and I am not the least bit sad that he has not won yet.. to me, all the laps matter, every single one and my boy Tony, he races all of them.. he does not rely on Lucky dogs to get him a lap back.. he is exciting, racing all day long.. so as long as he does not put himself in bad situations, with pit road speeding penalites or aggressive driving penalties, he makes me proud. you do remember the Nationwide series wins don't you? those do count to those who watch all types of races.
take away the need for a drafting partner at superspeedways, and Tony would win every single race.

Big20, I was happy to read those commments about "a long future with JGR" also. Sounds like there should be no worries about extending the contract next year...WOOHOO!

I'm with you 100%. People need to learn to be responsible for their own actions. The Government is not there to bail everyone out.

True, true. Though I have to work today and I'll be here late.

I realized I have to be at work until like three on Saturday, and I'm not sure what time the race starts . Hopefully I'll be home before it.
