That's why Jr. took Eury with him to Hendricks. If he doesn't produce this year, he's still got Tony Jr. as his security blanket and he can blame him for the failure. If Jr. doesn't shine this year, Tony Eury Jr. will be gone. Then who's Jr. going to blame? No Teresa, No Tony Jr. He might have to finally look in the mirror.

Ever since Sr died Jr's results have dropped. I sincerely think he can't drive a car unless it's perfect and his dad was doing his setups for him. With no one to hold his hand now he's lost.
Crew Chief and team can't drive the car for him and if he can't provide the accurate feedback they need they can't change the car to keep up with the track.

Well he is in 4th place in points. Why can't you bitch about some of the others that are 39 spots behind him???????I still have never saw any good remarks for any driver come from you. Gee whats your problem?????

List of drivers I have complimented and have respect for; Jeff Gordon, Kyle Busch, Carl Edwards, Mark Martin, Clint Boyer, Martin Truex, Aric Amaroli (Sp), Harry Gant, Ricky Rudd, Bobby & Terry Labonte, Jeff Burton, Davey Allison, Kenny Schrader, Jacques Villeneuve and even Juan.
Guess you just remember the stuff that you disagree with.
You know what I think Jr's biggest problem is?... and I'm not being facetious. He didn't spend enough time gaining experience modified/latemodel racing. Moving to the bigs after only 100 amateur races didn't allow him to truely gain the setup knowledge so many others in the series have. He just doesn't seem to understand the car and communicate what its doing to the team at the level of the other successful drivers in the series. He stepped into a successful well run Busch team and then Cup team. Once Sr's leadership was gone so was his success. There is no doubt he can drive a well prepped car, it's maintaining that performance throughout the race that is his downfall.
Attack my thoughts all you want but if you actually give them a real look you may just see some truths there.

Thank you. I am so glad to do have respect for some drivers. I had begin to wonder.

Hendricks Motorsports builds their crew chiefs from the ground up. Steve Letart once swept floors at the Charlotte shop. Chad had been with them for a while before the 48 got going. Alan Gufstoson did pretty well with that 5 team over the last 2 years (with Kyle). If JR is going to put his faith in Rick, he should go all the way. Get a Hendricks Crew Chief. Make his cousin a car chief or something.

It's been obvious that Jr loses concentration over the span of the race. Not so much yet this year but in the past. I think he also struggles with telling the crew chief what is wrong with the car. Could all be related to others comment about lack of ground roots racing experiences.

I look at this year for Jr. as a rebuilding year. Now that everything that happened at DEI is behind him, he and the rest of the team can focus on racing and what it's going to take to win. Now that they have the resources and the engineering that Hendrick's provides, there is no excuse for them not to consistently finish in the top ten. Whether that happens or not is yet to be seen. He has done well so far, we'll see what happens as the year wears on.

Today's crew chief is a totally different animal than he was even ten years ago. Today's crew chief has to be as much engineer as he does mechanical genius. With the COT you can't build a successful car on what feels good. The tolerances now between what is driveable and what is undriveable is microscopic almost. The teams that doesn't have first class engineering departments are fainting into the sunset, the Pettys, the Wood Brothers, etc. etc. Tony Jr. simply does not possess the technological skills to function at Cup level with COT. Everyone gets promoted to their first level of incompetence. I listened to Jr.'s in car Sunday and he asked them not to adjust the car but Tony insisted and the car when backwards. I'm sorry, but poor pitting decisions and the inability to make correct adjustment decisions are keeping the 88 from performing to it's potential.

If you have noticed, or you are too blind to notice, jr has been running up front mostly every race, take off the rose- colored glasses.
Have you noticed that Jr. has lost two races this year that he was leading because of screwed up pit decisions. What planet have you been visiting. Did you listen to his in car this weekend. I did. By the way Stupid, you wear rose colored glasses when you're overly optimistic. Did I sound optimistic, Dumba**. For a supposed 17 year old female it's strange how you can jump right in with some stupid remark when you should be in class unless you're some fata** know-it-all drop out.

OK, let's get back to the subject at hand. Is Tony Eury getting too much attention or blame for how the 88 team performs? I personally don't think so, he is the crew chief after all. If Jr. gets on the radio and tells him the car is tight in the center and loose off, he has to figure out what they need to do in order to get the car to handle the way Jr. wants it. Whether it's an air pressure adjustment or a chassis adjustment or adding or removing a spring rubber, the bottom line is is that Eury is in charge of making those decisions. In my opinion Eury is doing an awesome job this year. The results speak for themselves...4th in points, 3rd in driver rating, 5th in avg. running position. Compared to last year that is one heck of an improvement. I suspect by seasons end we will see the 88 team right up there at the top in points among the elite, exactly where he belongs.

Not only that but also the engine supplier Honda owns the track in Japan and the spend big bucks trying to promote racing. The also sponsor Japenese drivers! Mostly it's because Honda Execs own the track in Japan, favor!
