This accident was NOT the girls fault! She did not ride into oncoming traffic and did not run into this truck!! What people don't know is that there is an eye witness to the accident and she tells a whole different story. A story that is being covered up. The Russian student girl (Maria) that was killed on Friday morning was not riding her bike- she was at a complete stand still. She was on her bike on the sidewalk, waiting to cross. This garbage truck turned and cut the corner clipping her with his rear double tires.. She was sucked into the rear wheel-well of the garbage truck and her body was severly mutilated along with the bike. The eye witness saw it all happen and the poor girl was screaming and crying, but the garbage truck driver didn't hear her and dragged her and the bike for a while before stopping. Please be aware that there are 2 sides of the story and important facts of the accident are being left out. The article isn't specific in stating that it is the REAR wheels of the truck that killed her!! So start asking yourself the questions and think about it- does it really make sense. An eye witness saw the whole thing and she was the one that ran to the gas station to call 911. I am sorry but the Police are covering up the truth. The girl is gone, no one can replace her life. If everyone knew the truth, then Waste Management would have to pay for the accident and obviously they don't want to do that. It is soo sad to see the blame being put on the girl, when really this was not her fault.

It's not what the police says, how do you know that? You told them? This important info should be mentioned...

Why does everyone call them foreign exchange STUDENTS???? Not one of them goes to school here. They are just brought here by the big resorts to work. Our local kids can't even find jobs in the Dells anymore. And yes, I know this as fact as I have worked with many of them in the past at the big resorts and not a single one was here for school. They come here, take our jobs, then go back to their country when the season ends. And after what I have seen/heard from the tourists this season, they are also fed up with all the foreign workers. And I think the low numbers of tourists coming here this season shows it. Wish the Dells would go back to the way it used to be. OUR students got the jobs. But then again, their wages wouldn't be subsidized by our government like the foreign workers are. Again, another fact.

I am someone who was right there at the time of the accident as well and what I saw is completely different from what TRUTH is posting! Maria was riding her bike on the sidewalk in front of the Citgo station and not looking up, another girl riding a short distance behind her but not knowing her was yelling for her to stop because she saw it coming as she ran into the side of the waste management truck. While it is true that she was crushed by the rear tires of the truck, she was not mutilated and she had no outer injuries it was all internal. She did not scream and as I helped EMS do C-spine and get her ready for transport there was nothing we could have done for her. She was basically gone. I was the only one who stepped forward and gave a statement to State Patrol and the Lawyers. If the person who dialed 911 saw so much why did she not make a statement. My vehicle remained in the road blocking traffic and I stayed put until the end. The Waste Management worker has been a basket case since he found out she died. Cut him some slack because thats why it's called an accident. Im sure when he left for work that morning it was'nt in his plans to run over a girl on a bike!!! I feel for Marias parents but as a Dells resident I too am hard pressed to like the fact that our summers are taken over with people who don't speak English or know the rules of the road, whether it be a bike, car or even walking!! I have almost hit people several times because no one knows the rules of the road!!!!!!!
