Kyle Petty looking for work

Feb 6, 2009 | Posted by: roboblogger | Full story: PilotOnline.com

Cars are on the track today but one driver without a ride is Kyle Petty. Petty was at the track briefly Friday to tape a show for Speed Channel before returning to his North Carolina home.

It's pathetic how Kyle was treated by everyone involved after Petty Enterprises sold out majority interest. He left his ride to help PE out when Richard began to have health issues. He ran the day to day stuff for years, wasting some of his best driving days considering how things ended up. The King won't have a beer sponsor to respect his mom, but seems to show little respect or empathy for Kyle and how he has been disrespected. I was hoping that he would be offered a good ride this year to show how good he really is. He managed to get decent and sometimes good finishes out of the pieces of shit cars he has been given for the last three years particularly.

I get so sick of hearing all this BS! That SOB did it to himself and he's exactly where he should be, but in fact, where he should've been over ten years ago! As far as im concerned, he ran Petty Enterprises in the ground, not only making piss poor decision has head of the operation, but as well as keeping his sorryass behind the wheel of that car. He said for several years that the only reason he stayed behind the wheel of the car was to gain attention for Victory Junction Camp, and that SHOULD NOT be the main reason to stay behind the wheel. He has done nothing but embarass the family name each time he was out on the track and i was glad when he missed races so that the embarassment would finally stop, so hopefully the next embarassed family being the Waltrips with Mikey still out there will hopefully end after this year. Victory Junction Gang Camp is a great charity and i hate what happen to Adam Petty and would've loved to have seen what he could do, but Kyle should've taken is pathetic butt out of that drivers seat and been looking for drivers such as Jimmie Johnson and Carl Edwards who they could've jumped on long ago. Ill say it like ive said all along, i think after Adam died, i think Kyle goal was that if Adam couldnt resurrect Petty Enterprises, then Kyle was going to drive it into the ground so nobody could, and he succeeded and im glad that Richard finally cut him out of it. Im tired of people taking up for this joke, he done it to himself and i have NO sympathy for Kyle Petty!

Ya'all should all be adshamed of yourself. It's not always about winning. It's about the kind of person you are. Have any of you ever been to that camp. Have you ever seen what that camp does for children with disabilities. As a parent of VJG child, I know first hand what Kyle and his family have done at that camp. To myself and my daughter he is a bigger than any win at a race or championships won will ever be. Don't you think for all the respect he has shown those kids (respect that is never shown to them in there difficult lives) he deserves to be shown the same. So, for those of you who have nothing but cruel things to say. Remember one day when we look back on Kyle Petty we will remember him for more than winning races and championships. We will remember him as a kind, caring man who cared more about some children with disacilities than he did about himself. If you ask me thats a true legacy.

I agree; however, if your name is only out there as an analyst, people may not remember. He needs that notariety to get people to donate to his camp. It IS about being the person we want our kids to look up to, but it's also about being productive and profitable. Right now, I think analyst is good, but I would like to see him run at least Nationwide or at the very least ARCA.

Did ole Richard lose respect for his mom? He now has a beer sponsor. He would not let his drivers run in the bud shootout now bud is his sponsor. What is Actions like that called???????? could it be Greed.....Would like to hear his spin on this one.

Here's the spin, RP doesn't have any significant control of RPM, basically owner in name only. As for RP & KP relationship. Both good guys but father/son and work relationships usually have problems. Both great talents in different eras. Nobody could do what RP did in any era but look at the rides Kyle were in, most ran worse before he drove them and worse after he drove them. As for mgmt of PE they didn't make the transition to what NASCAR has become. Considering the state of the sport I can't blame anyone. I saw Dale Iman in Daytona in the late 90's he said it just not fun anymore it's not what it used to be.

You won't see it on the 43 car. Merge or fold was the choices they had, but alchohol on the 43 is the line in the sand.

CRJ - So sorry I did not get to read this post when you wrote it. I think if you are going to criticize Kyle, at least you could do it intelligently. Your spelling and grammar are atrocious! Now that leads me to comment on your opinion of Kyle - He is a good man. We personally saw him drive at the 50th anniversary of the Daytona. His car sounded like a lawnmower right from the beginning. He didn't stand a chance. My husband is a mechanic and not necessarily a Kyle fan; however, he felt sorry for him with that piece of garbage car. Another fact, they put other drivers in that car and they couldn't do any better.....do you think there could possibly be a connection? Next time, speak intelligently and use grammar/spelling check.
